<strong>Macra</strong> <strong>na</strong> <strong>Feirme</strong>’s <strong>na</strong>tio<strong>na</strong>l AGM<br />

took place on Saturday, 11 May,<br />

at the Charleville Park Hotel in<br />

Avondhu, Cork and was kindly sponsored<br />

by Kerry Agri-business.<br />

The 34th <strong>na</strong>tio<strong>na</strong>l president, Kieran<br />

O’Dowd, was i<strong>na</strong>ugurated alongside<br />

his three VPs, James Healy, Munster<br />

VP (Donoughmore <strong>Macra</strong>, Muskerry),<br />

Patrick Delaney, Leinster VP (Portlaoise<br />

<strong>Macra</strong>) and Sean Fi<strong>na</strong>n, North West VP<br />

(Castlerea <strong>Macra</strong>, Roscommon).<br />

Ro<strong>na</strong>n Feighery from Ferbane <strong>Macra</strong>,<br />

Co. Offaly was elected <strong>na</strong>tio<strong>na</strong>l chairman,<br />

with Mary Bren<strong>na</strong>n from Kilkenny<br />

City <strong>Macra</strong> and Sean Fi<strong>na</strong>n taking up the<br />

respective roles of <strong>na</strong>tio<strong>na</strong>l secretary and<br />

<strong>na</strong>tio<strong>na</strong>l treasurer.<br />

These join ex-president Alan Jagoe,<br />

and re-elected members David<br />

McDo<strong>na</strong>gh, Sean Ro<strong>na</strong>n and Michelle<br />

O’Callaghan on Natio<strong>na</strong>l Executive.<br />

Newly elected members of executive are<br />

Frances Murphy from Tullyallen <strong>Macra</strong>,<br />

Co Louth and Eamon Cassells, Athboy<br />

<strong>Macra</strong>, Co Meath.<br />

Chairpersons of <strong>Macra</strong>’s three subcommittees,<br />

Agricultural Affairs; Rural<br />

Youth Initiative and Competitions were<br />

elected as:<br />

1) Ag Affairs: Sean Coughlan, Mayo<br />

2) Rural Youth Initiative: Garvan Hickey,<br />

Wicklow<br />

3) Competitions: Eamon Cassells, Meath<br />
