The <strong>FBD</strong> <strong>Young</strong> <strong>Farmer</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Year</strong> Awards, organised by<br />
<strong>Macra</strong> <strong>na</strong> <strong>Feirme</strong>, in partnership with <strong>the</strong> IFA, recognises<br />
<strong>the</strong> work <strong>of</strong> young farmers in each county. It is an<br />
opportunity for you to represent your county while receiving<br />
an independent review and advice on your farm. You could<br />
be in with a chance to win a travel bursary and experience<br />
farm practices abroad while developing your skills.<br />
How to enter<br />
Option 1: Nomi<strong>na</strong>te a young farmer using <strong>the</strong> nomi<strong>na</strong>tion form below.<br />
Option 2: Apply directly using <strong>the</strong> self-application form overleaf<br />
County winners will be given <strong>the</strong> opportunity to submit additio<strong>na</strong>l information for <strong>the</strong> <strong>na</strong>tio<strong>na</strong>l fi<strong>na</strong>ls.<br />

Who can enter?<br />
To enter <strong>the</strong> competition farmers must be:<br />
Under thirty five years on 1st January 2012 and a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>Macra</strong> <strong>na</strong> <strong>Feirme</strong> or <strong>the</strong> IFA.<br />
Involved in <strong>the</strong> running <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> farm on which <strong>the</strong>y currently work for at least three years, ei<strong>the</strong>r full or part-time.<br />
Must be within 10 years <strong>of</strong> starting <strong>the</strong>ir agricultural education.<br />
One county winner will be selected from each county and will qualify for <strong>the</strong> <strong>na</strong>tio<strong>na</strong>l competition.<br />
NOTE: All 2011 County Winners and all past Natio<strong>na</strong>l Winners are ineligible to enter <strong>the</strong> competition – all o<strong>the</strong>r entrants from<br />
last year and previous years may enter <strong>the</strong> competition.
