NUCLEAR RENAISSANCE<br />

IN THE MAKING<br />

• Oct. 30 - The Department of Energy switched operators of the<br />

Yucca Mountain nuclear waste project, awarding a $2.5 billion,<br />

5-year management contract to URS Corp.<br />

• Oct. 27 - Westinghouse Electric Company announced it will<br />

open an office in Charlotte, North Carolina, during February<br />

2009 in response to the nuclear renaissance and related<br />

business growth<br />

• Oct. 23 - AREVA, Northrop Grumman jointly announce AREVA<br />

Newport News as first U.S. manufacturing facility for heavy<br />

nuclear components
