Question: Was Lady Elizabeth Twamley
directly related to Lady Lynden
James Twamley of Cronalea and
Thomas Twamley of Cronalea were killed
in the Rebellion of 1798
Peter Twamley was a freeholder
as late as 1790. Peter Twamley's will is
dated 1749, and appears in the index of
Prerogative wills as does that of James
Twamley dated 1786.

The suggestion that GEORGE CODD and
THOMAS CODE were first cousins and the story that
RACHEL TWAMLEY was George’s grandmother are
incompatible. It seems more likely, if one trusts the
records, that THOMAS CODE’s grandmother was RACHEL
TWAMLEY’s sister ELIZABETH, that THOMAS CODE and
his wife (LADY) ELIZABETH TWAMLEY were first cousins,
and that GEORGE and THOMAS were second cousins.

am trying to make sense of all the above that came to Kitley Twp. and Lanark County, Ontario
about 1817 from Arghold Parish, County Wicklow.
First seems to be James and Ann Codd, b early 1700's. children:
