Diesel locomotive class G <strong>1000</strong> <strong>BB</strong><br />

The multiple-purpose locomotive features<br />

up-to-date technology and is designed to<br />

meet the latest environmental protection<br />

and safety standards. The G <strong>1000</strong> is based<br />

on the VOSSLOH Locomotive platform<br />

concept and is built according to our modular<br />

design philosophy.<br />

The robust and functional layout ensures<br />

high availability and a long service life at<br />

low LCC’s.<br />

High convenience is provided by the<br />

ergonomical design of the driver’s cab and<br />

the access ways. The compact air<br />

conditioning unit enables the safe and<br />

comfortable operation of the locomotive. All<br />

the necessary communication technologies<br />

are either on offer or easily adaptable.<br />

The operating range of this locomotive, with<br />

its two-stage reversing turbo transmission<br />

and system inherent hydrodynamic brake,<br />

includes heavy shunting service as well as<br />

light line service. In addition to the single<br />

traction mode, the locomotive also provides<br />

for heavy line service in multiple traction<br />

mode.<br />

At present the G <strong>1000</strong> is offered with German,<br />

French and Italian homologation.<br />

Product range of standard diesel<br />

locomotives<br />

Due to modularity, the standard range<br />

comprises a large amount of flexibility<br />

regarding operation mode, application area,<br />

performance and equipment.<br />

Standard features are:<br />

- Electronic vehicle control and management<br />

systems with integrated wheel slide and<br />

anti-slip protection as well as diagnostics<br />

capability<br />

- High-speed diesel engines<br />

- Turbo transmission and cardan shaft drive<br />

- Power distribution by means of cardan<br />

shafts and low maintenance gear clutches<br />

- Uniform standard bogie for all diesel engine<br />

outputs, i.e. with heavy axle load and<br />

speed reserves<br />

- Low hinge joint to the bogies by<br />

push-pull rods<br />

- Support between bogies and locomotive<br />

body without sliding blocks, system<br />

<strong>Vossloh</strong> Locomotives<br />

- Wheel disc brake and modular brake panel<br />

- Radiator fan, air compressor and auxiliary<br />

generator with regulated hydrostatic drive<br />

- The central driver’s cab extends over the<br />

entire width of the locomotive and is<br />

equipped with diagonally arranged doors<br />

at the front, which can be reached safely<br />

by operating personal by utilising the<br />

railings and the conveniently wide access<br />

ways/shunting steps, without having to<br />

leave the clearance gauge of the locomotive.<br />
