Need to encourage more private health facilities
As to whether “there is a need to encourage more private health facilities to be
set up”, 38% agreed overall. But again, public sector doctors agreed much less (18%)
than private doctors (63%). There was a rural-urban divide in opinion as well, with
rural doctors showing less agreement (27%) than urban doctors (47%).
Multivariate analysis showed urban practitioners and educational level
(university) as the independent factors associated with support for the establishment
of more private clinics (Table 28).
