Rainbow Build II
continues
TUCSON - Rainbow Build II,
a new home being built by Habitat
for Humanity and the Tucson
LGBTQ community, is currently
underway.
To build such a home, LGBTQ
groups and individuals (of any persuasion)
contribute money for materials
and then work together to
construct it.
The 2005 Tucson Rainbow Build
was the first LGBT build in the nation
and was featured in the July 19,
2005, issue of The Advocate. Some
35 Tucson organizations joined together
in that effort.
The second house will be targeted
for an eligible LGBT family.
As of mid-March, Habitat of
Humanity had reached $67,000 of
its $85,000 goal for the project and
still needs additional funds.
