Elementary Spelling Championship<br />
Listed below are the results of the Elementary Spelling Championship sponsored by the<br />
Stanislaus County Office of Education. The event was held on November 2, <strong>2011</strong> at Gregori<br />
High School in Modesto. Harry Bakker, a retired educator served as the Spelling Master and<br />
44 volunteers served as proctors. 75 students from 48 schools participated in the event. If<br />

Joven Hundal and Avery Owen will represent Stanislaus County at the State Championship<br />
at San Joaquin Office of Education, Stockton, CA on April 21, <strong>2012</strong>. Terry Tek will serve as<br />
an alternate and will go to the State Championship if Joven or Avery is unable to attend.<br />
Some words the champions spelled correctly were: seismological, occurrence, cauliflower,<br />
and tenacious.
