MasterCard accredited service provider for formal approval. In 2011, we
assisted over 1,300 acquirers worldwide to complete their certification
projects. We support Visa certification projects as well as domestic payment
networks.
Our aim is simple, to help acquirers achieve certification efficiently and cost

Network interface test services
FIME can simplify migration by performing the network interface tests on behalf of the bank at the
bank test site, using experienced FIME network test consultants.
About network interface testing
Certification of the network-interface connection is mandatory for all acquirers (or member service providers)
connecting to the payment network. It is a one-off task for each transaction profile, which banks must complete
prior to terminal implementation certification. The payment network supplies the test plan (based on the
business requirements of your migration project) and certifies the test results.
FIME network test components
FIME supports a range of test component services, which banks can select to suit the needs of their migration
project – whether this is a mag-stripe, contact or contactless migration. Test components for issuing networks
are also listed as they often form part of network migration projects.
For a fast and efficient migration from A to Z, FIME can combine on-site network migration testing with on-site

The suite of network test components you will need depends your network configuration. Since ATM and POS
operate over different networks, each must be tested individually. Each test component allows time for network
interface debugging and certification testing.

Terminal implementation test services
FIME offers two solutions for MasterCard and Visa terminal implementation
projects, an outsource test model and an acquirer
in-house test model. Both models are supported with industry
leading test tools used to create your test environment, with formal
approval services where required, and with FIME test consultant
expertise.
Outsourced certification testing by FIME
Outsourced certification is for acquirers who are looking for
additional resource, or a high-speed route, to complete implementation
certification. In this solution, a FIME test consultant
performs certification testing at the acquirer site.
Visa terminal implementation testing takes up to two days on site
for each card interface. MasterCard certification testing takes up
to four days on site for ATM, and up to three days on site for each
POS card interface (contact or contactless). The consultant will
co-ordinate with the FIME Formal Approval team for test-result
certification.
When using outsourced certification we aim to complete formal
approval of MasterCard test results in one iteration with a turnaround
time reduced to one day.

require a flexible and efficient way managing their certification
test operations.
The heart of this solution is SAVVI:

certification test projects

the test cases and test results (card and simulator logs)

SAVVI supports certification projects for POS (contact and
contactless interfaces) and ATM (contact interface). To complete
the SAVVI test set up all that is required are the test card subsets,
card-log capture tools and the host logs SAVVI accepts all common
ATM log-file formats.

FIME test solutions are modular, so acquirers can select just what is required. FIME has enhanced some MasterCard
Formal Approval services with additional services to improve the pre-certification/certification process. The FIME
TwoPass service adds support for pre-certification testing to improve implementation preparation. The FIME ‘Plus’
services adds four hours of remote technical support to the standard M-TIP and PayPass M-TIP Formal Approval.
For each Formal Approval service, FIME has prepared a set of recommended tool suites for first time certification

Automation tools for certification project and test result analysis
SAVVI – Automated test analysis software reduces test time and test errors
SAVVI is a class leading test analysis software package
for Visa and MasterCard testing for contact and
contactless terminals.
Automatic loading of test plans, card logs and simulator
logs eliminate the need to manually document
results in excel spreadsheets. Test results are automatically
analysed against built-in test-plan analysis packs
(Visa ADVT, M-TIP TwoPass, M-TIP and PayPass M-TIP).
SAVVI presents the results via clean and simple user
interface at a project level and at a detailed transaction
level enabling testers to identify test issues efficiently
and quickly.
Built-in test scenario guides explain the test requirements and the expected target results for each scenario. SAVVI
