1. Events<br />

1.2.5 Competitor<br />

A competitor is a driver who has started at least one run at an event.<br />

1.2.6 SD<br />

SD is the acronym for the <strong>Solo</strong>® Department at the <strong>SCCA</strong>® National office.<br />

1.2.7 National <strong>Solo</strong>® Event<br />

A. <strong>Solo</strong>® National Championship: The event at which the <strong>Solo</strong>® National<br />

Champion for each class is determined. Managed by the <strong>SCCA</strong>® <strong>Solo</strong>®<br />

Department and administered by <strong>SCCA</strong>® member officials.<br />

B. <strong>Solo</strong>® National Tour: A collection of National-level <strong>Solo</strong>® events run<br />

at various locations across the country as preparatory events for the<br />

National Championship. Primarily planned and administered as a partnership<br />

between the local <strong>SCCA</strong>® Region and the <strong>SCCA</strong>® <strong>Solo</strong>® Department.<br />

C. Pro<strong>Solo</strong>® National Championship: <strong>Solo</strong>® National level events run<br />

at various locations across the country using a mirror image course<br />

format that incorporates a drag race type start, including the use of<br />

“Christmas tree” starting lights. Organized and managed by the <strong>SCCA</strong>®<br />

<strong>Solo</strong>® Department with the assistance of a host Region or club.<br />

1.2.8 Inter-Regional <strong>Solo</strong>® Event<br />

An Inter-Regional <strong>Solo</strong>® Event is primarily planned and administered using<br />

the broad policy guidelines of the SEB with assistance from the <strong>Solo</strong>®<br />

Development Coordinator (SDC) and the <strong>SCCA</strong>® <strong>Solo</strong> Department.<br />

1.2.9 GCR<br />

GCR is the acronym for the <strong>SCCA</strong>® Club Racing General Competition <strong>Rules</strong>,<br />

including the associated specification <strong>book</strong>s.<br />

1.3 EVENT OPERATING RULES<br />

1.3.1 Insurance Requirements (Refer to Section 4.13)<br />

1.3.2 Other Operating Requirements<br />

A. All persons in an event car must have an <strong>SCCA</strong>® membership, either<br />

full or weekend.<br />

B. All competitors, except participants in Kart classes, must have a valid<br />

driver’s license.<br />

C. Competitors are required to wear seat belts, except Kart drivers, and<br />

helmets when driving in competition. Roll bars are recommended.<br />

D. A passenger is allowed provided he/she:<br />

1. is no younger than twelve (12) years old;<br />

2. is in a vehicle which has passed safety (tech) inspection (Section<br />

3.3.3);<br />

3. is wearing a properly fitted seat belt and a properly fitted helmet;<br />

4. has completed and signed the required participant waiver(s), including<br />

parents/guardians as appropriate (Section 4.13).<br />

In general, a passenger should be either a student riding with an in-<br />
