Bill Parton Trio aim for the simplicity and catchiness of The
Beatles, combined with Coldplay-like chords and melodies,
and the impressionism of Jeff Buckley and Radiohead.
The trio is William Parton, Jeremy Martin and Andrew
Partington, who emerged onto the South Australian live
circuit in 2001. Together they play a diverse range of jazz,
through mainstream swing to smooth ballads and Latino
style sounds. The ensemble is proud of its youthful
freshness and musical virtuosity, and use piano, bass,
drums and vocals to create a vibrant atmosphere.
In the past decade the group has built up quite a portfolio,
having performed at hundreds of events, private functions
and festivals. This February they released their first single
Going Away from their debut EP.
Sometimes funky and always cool, Black Fedora play
anything jazz. They delve deep into their store of jazz
standards, serving them up with a twist of soul, funk,
blues and swing.
Emma Gordon-Smith leads with her strong vocal talent
in front of band members including Nigel Bourn, Michael
Boehm, Peter Torr and Satomi Ohnishi. Take a powerful
journey from Etta James to Norah Jones, with stops at all
points in between.
