I am an evaluator <strong>and</strong> social scientist with over 20 years of experience who enjoys all facets of research design,<br />
data collection, analysis <strong>and</strong> reporting. In addition to my management experience, I am well-versed in creating<br />
evaluation systems that logically fit stakeholders’ goals <strong>for</strong> improving programs <strong>and</strong> processes. My experience<br />

<strong>Center</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Schools</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Communities</strong>, Camp Hill, PA<br />
Director of Evaluation, May 2004 to present.<br />
Responsible <strong>for</strong> the management, design <strong>and</strong> quality of several evaluation, data collection <strong>and</strong> analysis projects<br />
funded by Federal, State <strong>and</strong> private sources. Develops <strong>and</strong> analyzes quantitative <strong>and</strong> qualitative datasets from<br />
field, survey <strong>and</strong> administrative data collection systems. Supervises staff. Coauthors proposals <strong>and</strong> co-leads other<br />
<strong>Center</strong>-wide ef<strong>for</strong>ts, including organizational <strong>and</strong> strategic development. Developed the <strong>Center</strong>’s first Research<br />
Brief series <strong>and</strong> an internal evaluation review system. Selected project experience includes:<br />
Direct Certification. Using interviews <strong>and</strong> surveys, identified processes <strong>and</strong> circumstances that inhibit<br />
greater efficiency of the National School Lunch Program in Pennsylvania.<br />
Bullying Prevention. Developed a mixed-methodology, quasi-experimental evaluation system to assess<br />
change in school-wide bullying <strong>and</strong> program fidelity. Provided ongoing <strong>for</strong>mative feedback <strong>and</strong> collaborated<br />
with a statewide bullying prevention group.<br />
Parent In<strong>for</strong>mation Resource <strong>Center</strong>. Managed quantitative <strong>and</strong> qualitative evaluation ef<strong>for</strong>t on this<br />
initiative conducted by Temple University. The evaluation used interviews, surveys, participant observation<br />
<strong>and</strong> analysis of program artifacts.<br />
PPT-ELECT Initiative. Collaborated with program managers <strong>and</strong> database architects to design a web- <strong>and</strong><br />
paper-based quantitative data collection system deployed in over 25 sites throughout Pennsylvania. Also<br />
provided data collection <strong>and</strong> <strong>for</strong>mative evaluation <strong>for</strong> annual reports to the Pennsylvania Department of<br />
Education, <strong>and</strong> technical assistance to sites.

Systems of Care. Designed <strong>and</strong> executed evaluation plan <strong>for</strong> a complex, multilevel health care systems<br />
integration project. The project evaluation included qualitative analysis of staff field notes (using nVivo),<br />
descriptive statistical analysis <strong>and</strong> numerous <strong>for</strong>mative feedback tools.<br />
Project 4C. Created mixed-methodology evaluation plan <strong>and</strong> coordinated external evaluators’ (George<br />
Washington University) field observations <strong>and</strong> reporting.<br />
Staff <strong>and</strong> Supervision. Supervise multiple staff, providing <strong>for</strong> specific feedback on tasks, annual reviews <strong>and</strong><br />
professional development.<br />

Conducted a wide range of activities related to the planning <strong>and</strong> implementation of a large national survey of<br />
public school teachers. Designed questionnaires, created specifications <strong>for</strong> statistical reports, conducted statistical<br />
analysis, developed conference proposals <strong>and</strong> presentations, planned <strong>and</strong> developed web sites, <strong>and</strong> oversaw <strong>and</strong><br />
supervised various projects <strong>and</strong> staff. Specific project experience at AIR included:<br />
<strong>Schools</strong> <strong>and</strong> Staffing Survey. Served as a survey development specialist <strong>and</strong> analyst on most aspects of<br />
survey design <strong>and</strong> data analysis. For the design of the 1999-2000 <strong>Schools</strong> <strong>and</strong> Staffing Survey (SASS),<br />
developed questionnaires examining current education issues; conducted cognitive interviews, focus<br />
groups <strong>and</strong> related survey research; <strong>and</strong> prepared reports to the Office of Management <strong>and</strong> Budget (OMB)<br />
justifying the need <strong>for</strong> both pilot <strong>and</strong> full administrations of the survey. Co-authored a report examining the<br />
prevalence of out-of-field teaching among public school teachers.<br />
Disclosure Risk. Developed <strong>and</strong> conducted a series of analyses aimed at determining the risk of releasing<br />
data that could identify individual respondents to the 1999-2000 <strong>Schools</strong> <strong>and</strong> Staffing Survey. Authored<br />
final report <strong>and</strong> advised other staff in matters related to disclosure risk analysis.<br />
Statistics in Brief. Conceptualized, planned <strong>and</strong> conducted analysis of National Education Longitudinal<br />
Survey (NELS) 2000 data in a small secondary study of postsecondary attainment. This project evaluated the<br />
postsecondary attainment of students according to race, ethnicity, <strong>and</strong> socioeconomic status.<br />
National Assessment of Adult Literacy (NAAL). Developed presentation <strong>and</strong> report materials to explain<br />
technical aspects of the NAAL <strong>for</strong> a general audience.<br />

Computer Skills<br />
I use a variety of analysis software, including over 15 years using SPSS/PASW to per<strong>for</strong>m a variety of data<br />
processing <strong>and</strong> statistical analysis tasks. Specially, I routinely clean <strong>and</strong> restructure complex datasets with SPSS, as<br />
well as complete correlational, regression <strong>and</strong> multivariate analyses with SPSS. Additionally, I use HLM to per<strong>for</strong>m<br />
multilevel analyses, <strong>and</strong> ArcGIS <strong>for</strong> geospatial analysis tasks. I have also used STATA, SAS, Wesvar, <strong>and</strong> nVivo.<br />
Finally, I am very proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.<br />
