Dear Parent/Guardian
Design and Technology at The Maelor School
Design and Technology plays an important role in the overall education of all
pupils at The Maelor School. The equipment and materials provided for pupils
help to ensure that the best quality education can be offered to each and every
pupil. As a result of rising costs of materials and equipment Food Technology are
asking for help from the families of pupils for the school academic year from
September 2012 to July 2013. A £7.00 annual voluntary contribution would
assist in ensuring that the quality of education is continued. Participating in this
donation will help towards the high cost of materials and avoid teachers having
to ask parents/pupils for contributions for each project within Food Technology.
At the end of each project, pupils will have the benefit of taking home their
practical work. Contributions are purely voluntary and will not affect in any way
the high quality education which the teaching staff currently provides for all
students. All parents of students are asked to complete and return the slip
attached to this letter to the Finance office as soon as possible. A reply in
either respect ensures that parents have seen the letter.
The majority of products produced at school should return home with the
student at the end of the day.
