Service Provider Data Center Protection
The CA ARCserve® Managed Service Provider licensing program enables service providers
and ISVs to license CA ARCserve Family of Products on a monthly basis to protect back end
data centers that are used to provide services.
Today, Service Providers leverage the Internet to offer a wide range of remote computing, storage
and management services using their own data center infrastructure and staff. Examples include:
Hosted email services and hosted database services (SaaS), as well as Platform and Infrastructure as
a Service (PaaS and IaaS). All these services require a centralized data center to house your systems,
applications and data, which all require a high level of protection, recovery and availability to meet
the service level agreements (SLAs) your clients are betting their business on.

Backing up data centers
With CA’s MSP Program service providers license CA ARCserve technology on a monthly basis, on a
per server or per Terabyte (TB) of protected data model.
CA ARCserve Backup is a comprehensive backup and recovery solution that can backup to disk and
tape and provides built-in data deduplication, Dashboard with SRM reporting and Infrastructure
Visualization to better manage the environment. The solution protects both physical and virtual
environments across multiple operating system and virtualization platforms.
CA ARCserve D2D is an easy to use disk-based snapshot backup and recovery tool incorporating
Infinite Incremental backup with means never having to do a full backup more than once. CA
ARCserve D2D works in Windows environments and can protect both physical and virtual servers. CA
ARCserve D2D is a critical system recovery tool that can slash recovery by 80% in many cases.
Improving SLA’s & DR
Service providers make their money charging for system time and storage use, so any unplanned
outage that occurs, not only affects your Clients business, it affects your top and bottom lines too.
With the CA MSP Program, a service provider could use ARCserve High Availability to enable near
continuous application availability either locally or to a remote site. In addition, it is always best

keep a copy of your data
at a separate/remote site.
CA ARCserve Replication
is an ideal way to quickly
and easily gain
continuous data
protection by replicating
data to a DR site where it
can then be backed up locally rather than transporting media from one site to another manually.
This also has the added benefit of being able rewind systems in the event of a corruption as well as
being able o perform DR tests on the replica systems via the Assured Recovery option.

recovery purposes.
