RSL, friends <strong>and</strong> had trouble adjusting <strong>to</strong> family life again<br />

Not acknowledged & <strong>and</strong> a lot went “bush”<br />

Last Australian troops were out in 1973<br />

Welcome home – in 1987 – Sydney – <strong>Vietnam</strong> Veterans had <strong>to</strong><br />

organise this <strong>the</strong>mselves<br />

Government only started <strong>to</strong> support <strong>Vietnam</strong> Veterans more recently<br />

- as<br />

suicide <strong>and</strong> divorce rate was very high for returned soldiers
