Description<br />

Height: 6 metres<br />

Stem:<br />

• Stout, hollow stem with dark red-purple blotches<br />

Leaves:<br />

• Large (>0.4 m)<br />

• Compound, deeply cut (many leaflets joining main stem)<br />

• Short, stiff, dense hairs on underside<br />

Flowers:<br />

• White<br />

• Umbrella-shaped clusters (umbel)<br />

• Umbel (> 0.75 m)<br />

Seeds:<br />

• Long (< 1 cm), flat<br />

Roots:<br />

• Large, tuberous, deep-growing<br />

Reproduction:<br />

• Perrenial<br />

• Seed (50-100K/plant/yr)(each seed viable up to 7 yrs)<br />

• Vegetative re-growth (sprouting from buds close to the ground on cut stalks)<br />
