Rug up as temperatures plummet <strong>and</strong> the wet season starts.<br />

Major sights will be quiet, so head to the Great Wall to explore<br />

Spr<strong>in</strong>g is a season of rebirth <strong>and</strong> travel <strong>in</strong> t<strong>hi</strong>s period of<br />

regeneration is especially beautiful <strong>and</strong> reward<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

Wildflowers bloom <strong>and</strong> birdlife abounds <strong>in</strong> C<strong>hi</strong>na’s grassl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

The Longji Terraces are lush <strong>and</strong> green <strong>and</strong><br />

villages bustle with the activity of cultivat<strong>in</strong>g new crops.<br />

<strong>Travel</strong> <strong>in</strong>to the countryside to experience the best of<br />

autumn or marvel at the golden leaves adorn<strong>in</strong>g the parks<br />

of Beij<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> Shanghai. Pleasant temperatures make for<br />

great explor<strong>in</strong>g, so grab a bike to cycle around Lijiang, trek <strong>in</strong><br />

Tiger Leap<strong>in</strong>g Gorge or limber up for some kung fu lessons<br />

<strong>in</strong> Shaol<strong>in</strong>. In the Tibetan grassl<strong>and</strong>s autumn is a time for<br />

horse rac<strong>in</strong>g festivals. Tent cities pop up <strong>and</strong> races, archery<br />

demonstrations, s<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> danc<strong>in</strong>g performances as well<br />

as impromptu markets abound. C<strong>hi</strong>na’s Mid-Autumn Festival<br />
