WEast Anglia’s most famous resident birds, the Bittern
Line extends 30 miles, connecting the fine city of Norwich
with the quaint, old north Norfolk coastal towns of Cromer
and Sheringham. Along the way, the line passes through
the beautiful scenery of the Norfolk Broads and the stunning
coastal countryside between Cromer and
Sheringham, designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty.
At Wroxham, gateway to the Broads, you can join the narrow
gauge Bure Valley Steam Railway. Why not stop off in
Worstead, a thriving centre of weaving in medieval times
Or how about exploring the charming market town of
North Walsham
In the regency town of Cromer you can walk along the
famous pier or discover the rich history of the town’s magnificent
medieval church. Next stop is the pretty village of
West Runton, before the train arrives in the charming seaside
resort of Sheringham, well known for its excellent
sandy ‘Blue Flag’ beaches.
A journey on the Bittern Line offers a world of possibilities
– from exhilarating country walks to a night at the theatre
or a drink in a friendly pub, taking advantage of our new
late night trains.

At Sheringham you may continue by train
to Holt on the private steam North Norfolk
Railway or take the scenic route along the
coast by the Coast Hopper bus service.
