This workshop is dedicated to practicing one of the karma exercises given by Rudolf Steiner at the end of his
life. We will explore a series of incarnations cited by Rudolf Steiner in Karmic Relationships. After the
presentation of these incarnations there will be a conversation with all participants using the Saturn, Sun, and
Moon exercise in which we try to experience for ourselves the connection between these incarnations and
something of the true impulses of this individuality.
Emperor Julian (331-363) was a Roman emperor who worked to keep the Mysteries alive when faced with the
way the new religion of Christianity appeared in the world. Herzeleide (9 th c.) was a real personality behind the
mother of Parzival as represented in Wolfram von Eschenbach’s story, Parzival. Tycho Brahe (1546-1601)
was a Danish astronomer who is regarded as the founder of accurate instrumental astronomy.
The Stars spoke once to Man.
It is World-destiny
That they are silent now.
To be aware of the silence
Can become pain for earthly Man.
But in the deepening silence
There grows and ripens
What Man speaks to the Stars.
To be aware of the speaking
Can become strength for Spirit-Man.

Those who study the stars have God for a teacher. Tycho Brahe
Linda Connell is a member of the Western Regional Council of the Anthroposophical Society and the Los
Angeles branch. She lives in Glendale CA with her husband Philip Mees, and manages a small law firm parttime.
Jannebeth Röell is a member of the Portland OR branch. Her experiences as an anthroposophical nurse and
artist are often shared with others through art and home healthcare workshops across the country. Jannebeth’s
art was recently on exhibition at the Eleven 049 Gallery in Portland. She practices art therapy and is working on
a project to publish the teaching essays on anthroposophy by Ernst Katz.
MariJo Rogers serves as a general secretary of the Anthroposophical Society in the United States. She is an
active member of the Faust Branch in Fair Oaks CA and she works in the ethics office of a large technology
company.
Lynn Stull is a member of the Los Angeles Branch. As a eurythmist and artist, Lynn enjoys bringing eurythmy
to adults and selling her paintings at Southern California art festivals.
Joyce Muraoka. Communion, community and communication are at the heart of her work when she teaches
classes to adults about the developing human consciousness and as she works with children in developing
speech and language skills. She values the training she has received from Creative Speech artists and her study
of Spiritual Science.
