Johnette Rutledge
As a third generation dancer, Johnette knew from a young age she
wanted a life filled with dance. After graduating from the Perpich center
for Arts Education, and Summit School of Dance, she began performing
anywhere she could. Johnette began dancing with the tap percussive
company, The Flying Foot Forum, where she enjoyed the opportunity to
perform nationally as well as internationally. She was also found dancing
with the contemporary company Brosseau Danceworks, The MN Opera,
Industrial shows for AT&T, and other various shows and theaters around
the country.
These days, Johnette enjoys her life as an instructor with Summit Dance
Shoppe in Plymouth MN, sharing her love and passion for dance as a
mentor to aspiring dancers. She has a great love for choreography,
receiving top awards for her work at the regional and national level. In
2005, she was awarded the Silver Leo's award for dance excellence at the
Jazz Dance World Congress. She also spends her weekends judging for
Various National Dance Competitions, as well as teaching workshops and
