TEACHING THE IMPORTANCE OF MATH
Arizona mortgage banker Mark Field lectured at the Phoenix Collegiate
Academy about the importance of math and financial education. Topics
included the history of money, setting a budget, understanding banking,
credit and debt, how a car is financed and how a home is financed.
There are many occupations that require strong math backgrounds
including: pilot, engineer, banker, construction, teacher, medical, police & fire.
I emphasized that these kids can become anything they set their minds
to. Dream big and work hard to accomplish your goals. I told them that any
one of them could be a doctor, lawyer, pilot, astronaut, Mayor of Phoenix,
or even a future President of the United States.
I was astounded when one of the students asked how they could become
a banker. www.phxca.org
FINANCIAL EDUCATION
FINANCIAL EDUCATION LESSON: DECEPTIVE MARKETING
by Mark Field
You receive a letter in the mail which looks like a government letter
which reads:
“2014: OBAMA WAIVES REFI REQUIREMENT. IF YOU OWE MORE THAN
$100,000 ON YOUR HOME, THE PRESIDENT IS PLEADING WITH YOU TO
REFINANCE”.
Trust me that President Obama is NOT pleading with you to refinance.
This is a cheap marketing gimmick by a lead generation company that
will sell your personal information including social security numbers to
anyone who will pay for it. Rule of thumb is that if a company needs to
use government in their marketing - they are unethical. period.
It is much better to chose a local licensed mortgage professional that
doesn't need to use gimmicks or bait & switch deceptive tactics to win
over your business. Something in America should be done above board
and with honesty.
Mark Field is a licensed Mortgage Professional in Arizona (NMLS
965030). Contact me at 602-434-3454 to discuss your best financial
give you any rate. Next
day - 5 calls. Following
day - 8. This went on
for 2 weeks. I never
returned any of the
calls. Do not fall for
this. This company
should be fined for
pulling this stunt.
I was looking for rates
for a HELCO (home
equity line of credit)
and tried Lending
Tree's service to find
lenders and look at
their rates. What I got
was 24 hours of emails
and phone calls from
vultures, some of
which took the liberty
to submit a mortgage
for approval. I was
looking for a line of
credit, not a mortgage,
clearly stated in the
search drop down on
Lending Tree. I did not
give any banks any
approval to submit a
mortgage application
on my behalf. I am so
angry and disgusted by
this practice. I suggest
no one ever use
Lending Tree or any of
their lenders. They all
seem like sharks, more
interested in my
money than actually
working with me on my
home improvement
projects. Why on earth
would anyone want to
work with these awful
people My concern
now is if this will ruin
my credit report. If so,
I would consider taking
legal action.
