Health through Consciousness—Esoteric Physiology<br />

In Collaboration with the Coros Institute<br />

June 20–25 featur<strong>in</strong>g Dennis Klocek, with Patricia Dickson and V<strong>in</strong>cent McElroen<br />

<strong>The</strong> health giv<strong>in</strong>g effect <strong>of</strong> a daily meditative body scan has been known for centuries. Some<br />

traditions call it the <strong>in</strong>ward smile meditation. This meditative exercise will play a core role <strong>in</strong><br />

this weeklong imag<strong>in</strong>ative exploration <strong>of</strong> the embryology, physiology and esoteric symbolism<br />

<strong>of</strong> the major systems and organs <strong>of</strong> the human body. <strong>The</strong> lecture themes will trace the path <strong>of</strong><br />

the blood from the marrow <strong>of</strong> the limb bones through the various life organs and ultimately<br />

<strong>in</strong>to the head. <strong>The</strong> evolution <strong>of</strong> the organs and systems will be presented from the po<strong>in</strong>t <strong>of</strong> view<br />

<strong>of</strong> both physiology and the symbolic or alchemical perspective. As an aid to the visualization<br />

process each new motif <strong>in</strong> the exercise will be accompanied by the appropriate eurythmy vowels<br />

and consonants used for heal<strong>in</strong>g and <strong>in</strong>tegration <strong>of</strong> the organ system <strong>in</strong> the body.<br />

Topics <strong>in</strong>clude: old Saturn as a model for embryogenesis; the fall <strong>of</strong> man and the role <strong>of</strong> the<br />

senses; the polarity <strong>of</strong> blood and nerve; the four life organs; the blood tablet; digestion and soul<br />

processes; soul breath<strong>in</strong>g; glands and the life body; anatomy and evolution <strong>of</strong> the bra<strong>in</strong>; the<br />

system <strong>of</strong> the chakras; and the fundamental issues <strong>of</strong> heal<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

Afternoon artistic sessions will <strong>in</strong>clude embryological studies <strong>in</strong> clay with Patricia Dickson as<br />

well as eurythmy exercises with V<strong>in</strong>cent McElroen. <strong>The</strong>re will be even<strong>in</strong>g lectures on Bach’s<br />

<strong>Art</strong> <strong>of</strong> the Fugue as the basis for a protective meditative mantra technique, and rhythmic motifs<br />

from morphology, as well as an even<strong>in</strong>g for social meet-up and shar<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> research questions.<br />

Veil Pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g—A Heal<strong>in</strong>g and Dynamic Process<br />

June 21–25 with <strong>The</strong>odore Mahle<br />

<strong>The</strong> veil pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g technique was demonstrated by Rudolf Ste<strong>in</strong>er <strong>in</strong> the cupola pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

<strong>of</strong> the First Goetheanum as a new way <strong>of</strong> work<strong>in</strong>g “out <strong>of</strong> the color.” This most meditative<br />

<strong>of</strong> techniques, beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g with the delicate world <strong>of</strong> color, proceeds to dynamic color-form<br />

relationships. With every brushstroke the artist <strong>in</strong> us responds anew to an ever-chang<strong>in</strong>g world,<br />

eventually result<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the motif <strong>of</strong> our choice. For beg<strong>in</strong>ners and experienced pa<strong>in</strong>ters. Also for<br />

class teachers <strong>of</strong> grades 7 and 8 who wish to teach veil pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g to their students.<br />
