Special provisions<br />

This is a mandatory <strong>VTS</strong><br />

Vessels carrying dangerous cargo in bulk: Visibility of more than 1000 metres:<br />

Radar and VHF must be fully operational.<br />

If visibility 500-1000 metres: tankers up to 2,000 tdw.<br />

Stralsund Traffic (East) consists of one sector. Stralsund Traffic VHF CH 67.<br />

<strong>All</strong> vessels in area Stralsund Traffic (East) must maintain permanent watch on VHF<br />

CH 67 or VHF CH 16.<br />

Permission to change frequency or end VHF watch should be obtained from<br />

Stralsund Traffic.<br />

<strong>All</strong> vessels more than 20 metres in length, including composite units, all vessels<br />

carrying dangerous cargo in bulk, (gas / chemicals / petroleum products), tankers<br />

not gas free or inerted after carrying petroleum / petroleum products with a<br />

flashpoint below 35°C.<br />

1. When entering the <strong>VTS</strong> area from sea, 30 minutes before passing the lightbuoy<br />

"Landtief B".<br />

2. Before leaving a harbour or berth within the <strong>VTS</strong> area.<br />

GIVING: IMO SRS ITEMS: Alpha, Delta, Golf, India, Oscar, Papa, (full particulars,<br />

including gas-free or not), Quebec, Tango, Uniform<br />

Pilotage<br />

1. Tankers carrying gas/chemicals/petroleum/petroleum products in bulk,<br />

or unloaded tankers if not cleaned, de-gassed, or completely inerted after<br />

carrying petroleum/petroleum products with flashpoint below 35C.<br />

2. <strong>All</strong> vessels exceeding 85 metres in length or 13metres beam or 5 metres<br />

in draught.<br />

BOARDING PLACE:<br />

(Also for ports within <strong>VTS</strong> Sassnitz/Mukran and <strong>VTS</strong> Wolgast)<br />

- Inbound 6 hours before arrival at boarding position.<br />

- Outbound 4 hours before departure (from Stralsund 3 hours)<br />

Information service<br />

Situation reports (SITREP) are broadcast at fixed times, and reports to<br />

individual ships are broadcast on demand, in German and English, on VHF CH 67.<br />

Time of SITREP: At 02.35 and every 2 hours between 06.35 and 22.35, on VHF CH<br />

67.<br />

<strong>Content</strong>s of SITREP:<br />

1. Information relevant to the safe passage of the vessel through the <strong>VTS</strong> area<br />

2. General fairway and traffic situation (e.g. weather conditions,<br />

casualties, dredging operations, pilot information)<br />
