ROBBIE CALLAWAY
Robbie Callaway is a lifelong advocate for children,
especially children from the most disadvantaged
circumstances. His early days directing group
homes for juvenile delinquents laid the groundwork
for his future national accomplishments. Callaway
has played a pivotal role promoting juvenile justice
funding and reform and the passage of national
legislation, policies and programs that impact
children. During his 24-year career at Boys & Girls
Clubs of America, Callaway led a Government
Relations team who, with strong bipartisan
Congressional and Presidential support raised over
$1 billion for the organization. He was instrumental
in growing the number of Clubs in public housing
communities from 23 to over 400 Clubs and was the driving force in BGCA expansion from zero
Clubs on Indian reservations to over 200.
He is a founding, past Chairman and current Board Member of the National Center for Missing
& Exploited Children and is past Chairman and continuing Board Member of the Cal Ripken, Sr.
Foundation. Thirty years ago he joined forces with John Walsh to pass the Missing Children’s Act
and recently rejoined John to help pass the Adam Walsh Child Protection & Safety Act, the most
comprehensive piece of child safety legislation in 25 years.
Today, working with FirstPic, Inc., Callaway continues to advocate for national youth-serving
organizations and foundations as he helps them “do the right thing for America’s children.”
Callaway’s number one mentor was a D.C. Transit bus driver with an amazing heart….his father.
