Final Excursion Itinerary
Sun 4 th July 15:30 Check-in Heathrow airport for your outbound flight with Virgin to Shanghai. Please
have passports ready at check-in. 3 hour check-in.
A representative from our flight agent, Air Partners, will meet you at the airport to
assist with check in.
18:30 Depart Heathrow airport on Flight VS 250 to Shanghai
Mon 5 th July 12:50 Arrive Shanghai. Proceed through visa and immigration checks (you will need to
make multiple copies of your group visa, which has been posted directly to you).
13:30 Transfer to internal China Air flight CA 1884 to Beijing.
A local guide will greet the group at Shanghai Airport and help you check in for the
internal flight to Beijing. Your Shanghai guide who will meet the group on Jul 5 at
Shanghai airport will hold a sign with the school name.
15:00 Check in for China Air flight CA 1884 to Beijing
16:20 China Air flight CA 1884 departs for Beijing
18:40 Arrive Beijing and meet with your National guide in arrivals hall. Proceed to your
transfer coach, load luggage and set off for hotel. Your national guide for the

Tues 6 th July 09:00 Breakfast in hotel then board your coach for full day sightseeing.
Morning walk at the Tiananmen Square, the largest one in the world. On 1 st
October 1949,Chairman Mao Tse-Tung proclaimed to the whole world the founding
of the People’s Republic of China there. Then visit the Forbidden City which was
the Imperial Palace for the Ming and the Qing Dynasty with 800 buildings and over
9,000 rooms. Afternoon visit the Summer Palace to see the second home of the
Imperial Court, with its huge collection of over 1,000 paintings, and its charming
gardens with marble pagodas and delicately arched bridges. Boat trip is included at
Summer Palace. Evening visit to Beijing Opera. Hutong ride is included today also.
Weds 7 th July Early Breakfast and check-out of the hotel. Please remember to take all your belongings
with you.
Early rise to see Tai’ Chi in Temple of Heaven which is said to be the most
beautiful building in Beijing, then the Great Wall at Juyongguan Section. The Great
Wall is China’s most famous landmark and the only man-made structure visible from
outer space. It was built during the Qin Dynasty to protect the country from
invaders, and has a total length of 6,000 miles.
Thr group will also be taken to see the Olympic Park, including Bird’s Nest outside
20:00 Transfer to station and check in for your overnight journey (1 st class) to Xian. Your
train departs at 21:24 and you have the following accommodation:
38 tickets booked in 4 berth cabins. 33 girls and 3 females in 9 x 4 berth and 2 male
plus National guide and empty berth (that could have Chinese person in it).
Thurs 8 th July 08:25 Arrival in Xian. Transfer to your hotel (Bell & Drum Tower Hotel). Arrive at your
hotel, check in, have breakfast and time to relax.
Visit to Wild Goose Pagoda. The Wild Goose Pagoda is a Buddhist pagoda located
in southern Xi'an. It was built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty and originally had five
stories, although the structure was rebuilt in 704 during the reign of Empress Wu
Zetian and its exterior brick facade renovated during the Ming Dynasty. Ancient City
Wall including bike ride.
Fri 9 th July 09:00 Visit Terra-Cotta Army Musuem. The terra-cotta army (or in simplified Chinese
‘bīngmǎ yǒng’; literally "soldier and horse funerary statues) are the Terra Cotta
Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang the First Emperor of China. The terracotta
figures were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers near Xi'an, Shaanxi province,
China near the Mausouleum of the second Ming Emperor.

14:05 Arrive Chongqing and transfer to 4* cruise ship “Victoria Rose” for Yangtse cruise -
3 night river cruise stopping at the Shibaozhai Temple, Shennong Stream and pass
through the Three Gorges Dam. Your guide will have further details regarding the

served at breakfast, only Chinese tea is served
with lunch and dinner. Supplement has been
pre-paid so each member will receive a soft
drink with lunch and dinner.
- You will be issued with group visa, of
which you must carry multiple copies
as you are sometimes asked to present
copies at hotels and sites as well as at
airport. Please note that US passport
holders cannot be included on UK
group visas, even if they are resident
in UK.
- Travellers may now take up to 20,000
RMB in and out of China. You can
change travellers cheques in banks and
hotels (subject to charges). We would
also advise carrying cash sums of
either US$ or £ sterling for shopping.
Cash machines are much more widely
accessible in China now, especially in
bigger cities such as Beijing.
