Sun 4 th July 15:30 Check-in Heathrow airport for your outbound flight with Virgin to Shanghai. Please<br />
have passports ready at check-in. 3 hour check-in.<br />
A representative from our flight agent, Air Partners, will meet you at the airport to<br />
assist with check in.<br />
18:30 Depart Heathrow airport on Flight VS 250 to Shanghai<br />
Mon 5 th July 12:50 Arrive Shanghai. Proceed through visa and immigration checks (you will need to<br />
make multiple copies of your group visa, which has been posted directly to you).<br />
13:30 Transfer to internal <strong>China</strong> Air flight CA 1884 to Beijing.<br />
A local guide will greet the group at Shanghai Airport and help you check in for the<br />
internal flight to Beijing. Your Shanghai guide who will meet the group on Jul 5 at<br />
Shanghai airport will hold a sign with the school name.<br />

Tues 6 th July 09:00 Breakfast in hotel then board your coach for full day sightseeing.<br />
Morning walk at the Tiananmen Square, the largest one in the world. On 1 st<br />
October 1949,Chairman Mao Tse-Tung proclaimed to the whole world the founding<br />
of the People’s Republic of <strong>China</strong> there. Then visit the Forbidden City which was<br />
the Imperial Palace for the Ming and the Qing Dynasty with 800 buildings and over<br />
9,000 rooms. Afternoon visit the Summer Palace to see the second home of the<br />
Imperial Court, with its huge collection of over 1,000 paintings, and its charming<br />
gardens with marble pagodas and delicately arched bridges. Boat trip is included at<br />
Summer Palace. Evening visit to Beijing Opera. Hutong ride is included today also.<br />
Weds 7 th July Early Breakfast and check-out of the hotel. Please remember to take all your belongings<br />
with you.<br />
Early rise to see Tai’ Chi in Temple of Heaven which is said to be the most<br />
beautiful building in Beijing, then the Great Wall at Juyongguan Section. The Great<br />
Wall is <strong>China</strong>’s most famous landmark and the only man-made structure visible from<br />
outer space. It was built during the Qin Dynasty to protect the country from<br />
invaders, and has a total length of 6,000 miles.<br />
Thr group will also be taken to see the Olympic Park, including Bird’s Nest outside<br />
20:00 Transfer to station and check in for your overnight journey (1 st class) to Xian. Your<br />
train departs at 21:24 and you have the following accommodation:<br />

Thurs 8 th July 08:25 Arrival in Xian. Transfer to your hotel (Bell & Drum Tower Hotel). Arrive at your<br />
hotel, check in, have breakfast and time to relax.<br />
Visit to Wild Goose Pagoda. The Wild Goose Pagoda is a Buddhist pagoda located<br />
in southern Xi'an. It was built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty and originally had five<br />
stories, although the structure was rebuilt in 704 during the reign of Empress Wu<br />
Zetian and its exterior brick facade renovated during the Ming Dynasty. Ancient City<br />
Wall including bike ride.<br />
Fri 9 th July 09:00 Visit Terra-Cotta Army Musuem. The terra-cotta army (or in simplified Chinese<br />
‘bīngmǎ yǒng’; literally "soldier and horse funerary statues) are the Terra Cotta<br />
Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang the First Emperor of <strong>China</strong>. The terracotta<br />
figures were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers near Xi'an, Shaanxi province,<br />
<strong>China</strong> near the Mausouleum of the second Ming Emperor.<br />
