Congratulations! You have entered the 2013 Brazilian Butterfly<br />
Queen of the Lake. The event commences at Palms Lawn,<br />
Albert Park (behind the Lakeside Stadium at the northern end<br />
of Albert Park Lake).<br />
Please note the start times above, as well as the number of<br />
laps for each event.<br />
For your own safety, please ensure you eat and drink adequately prior<br />
<strong>to</strong> and during the event.<br />
Your family and friends can still enter:<br />

(online entries close at 12:00 noon on Friday, 1 February)<br />
• On day from 7:00am at the Entries marquee<br />
n RACE NUMBERS<br />
You can collect your race number at the Number Pick Up Marquee<br />
from 7:00am. Anyone without a race number will not be permitted <strong>to</strong><br />
enter the event.<br />
NOTE: RACE NUMBERS WILL NOT BE SENT IN THE MAIL.<br />
n SKECHERS VISOR<br />
The first 2,500 entrants will receive a free Skechers Visor. These will<br />
be available for pick up with your race kit at the Entries Marquee.<br />
n ON DAY ENTRIES<br />
On day entries are accepted at the Entries marquee from 7:00am.<br />
Cost: $46 adults, $26 children under 15 years, $40 concession (health<br />
care cardholders and students). Mother-Daughter under 18 Challenge<br />
$62 and Mother-Daughter over 18 Challenge $77,<br />
2km Princess Run $13. NO REFUNDS.<br />
n CHANGING YOUR DISTANCE<br />
Please email info@start<strong>to</strong>finish.com.au by 9:00am on Thursday, 7<br />
February, prior <strong>to</strong> the race, with your name, date of birth and distance<br />
you wish <strong>to</strong> change <strong>to</strong>. Alternatively, you can change your distance on<br />
the morning of the event at the Entries Marquee from 7:00am.<br />
n GETTING THERE:<br />
CAR PARKING<br />
Limited parking is available in the Lakeside Drive carpark off Aughtie<br />
Drive, opposite the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC),<br />
next <strong>to</strong> the Bob Jane Stadium.<br />
Please note that parking restrictions and fees apply.<br />
PUBLIC TRANSPORT<br />
Tram number 96 from Spencer St: Disembark at the tram s<strong>to</strong>p near<br />
the corner of Ferrars St and Albert Rd. Tram number 112 from Spencer<br />
St and Clarendon St: Disembark at the tram s<strong>to</strong>p on Albert Rd.<br />
Please allow plenty of time <strong>to</strong> travel <strong>to</strong> the site, due <strong>to</strong> the St<br />
Kilda Festival coinciding on the same day.
<strong>PARTICIPANT</strong> <strong>INSTRUCTIONS</strong><br />
n COURSE<br />
Participants will start at Palms Lawn at Albert Park Lake,<br />
running in an anti-clockwise direction around Albert Park Lake –<br />
1 lap for 5km event and 2 laps for 10km event.<br />
Kilometre points will be clearly signed and a lead cyclist will<br />
direct each event.<br />
Please note: if you believe you have a chance of placing in the<br />
<strong>to</strong>p 10, make sure you start at the front of the first wave as<br />
placegetters will be awarded based on gun time.<br />
For your own safety, please ensure you eat and drink<br />
adequately prior <strong>to</strong> the event. Please keep hydrated<br />
before, during and after the event. Pushers and strollers<br />
are allowed, but must remain at the back of the last<br />
wave. For the safety of all, NO DOGS, ROLLERBLADES,<br />
SCOOTERS OR BIKES ALLOWED.<br />
n <strong>PARTICIPANT</strong> ETIQUETTE<br />
• Please keep <strong>to</strong> the left if walking, or slower than other runners.<br />
• If walking, please walk no more than two abreast, <strong>to</strong> allow<br />
runners <strong>to</strong> pass.<br />
• If wearing headphones, please keep sound levels <strong>to</strong> a minimum<br />
<strong>to</strong> hear marshal instructions along the course. Please listen <strong>to</strong><br />
the start line briefing carefully for important information.<br />
n WAVE STARTS<br />
There will be three wave starts for each distance, based on<br />
expected finish time, and coordinated at the start line on the<br />
morning of the event.<br />
n TIMING<br />
<strong>Start</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Finish</strong> uses the IPICO timing system. The timing chip<br />
must be attached <strong>to</strong> your shoe using the twist ties provided in<br />
the race . This device will be activated once you cross the start<br />
line, and again when you cross the finish line. These shoe tags<br />
will be collected after the completion of your event. Any timing<br />
chip not returned will incur a $50 replacement cost following<br />
the event.<br />
n AEROBICS WARM UP<br />
Join the aerobics warm up, held at the main stage at 8:15am for<br />
the 5km event and 8:45am for the 10km event.<br />
There will also be an aerobics warm up for the Princess Run<br />
participants at the start line at 7:50am.<br />
n NEW TO 2013: 2KM PRINCESS RUN<br />
There will be a 2km Princess Run for kids aged 4-12 years old.<br />
Cost: $12 online and $13 on day.<br />
They are encouraged <strong>to</strong> dress up in a princess outfit (or<br />
superheroes for boys).<br />
Every participant will be awarded with a medal.<br />
n CLOTHING<br />
Clothing s<strong>to</strong>rage is available during the run/walk. Your race<br />
number features a tear-off strip for you <strong>to</strong> attach <strong>to</strong> your<br />
backpack or clothing bag (plastic bags are available if needed).<br />
Do not leave any valuables in the clothing bags. We<br />
cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or s<strong>to</strong>len.<br />
n DRINKS STATIONS<br />
Drink stations will be located on course, at the finish area and<br />
near Palms Lawn (for the 10km event only).<br />
n FIRST AID<br />
St John First Aid will be located at the finish line and a roving<br />
bike crew will be on course. If you need medical attention on<br />
the course, please advise a course marshal or drink station<br />
attendant.<br />
n TOILETS<br />
Portable <strong>to</strong>ilets will be available for all participants and<br />
specta<strong>to</strong>rs close <strong>to</strong> Palms Lawn. Public <strong>to</strong>ilets are also available<br />
near the event site and around course.<br />
n EVENT T-SHIRTS FOR SALE<br />
Short sleeve cot<strong>to</strong>n diamante Brazilian Butterfly Queen of the<br />
Lake event T-Shirts are available for purchase online, and at the<br />
event site for $30.<br />
n PRODUCT GIVEAWAYS<br />
Each participant will receive a bottle of Coles water, Emma &<br />
Tom’s juice and a Slim Secrets health bar.<br />
n SHOWBAG<br />
Each participant will receive a Brazilian Butterfly showbag,<br />
containing Shimmer Lotion, $10 voucher and a great range of<br />
samples. Get yours at the finish line!<br />
n FOOD AND BEVERAGE<br />
Make sure you bring along a picnic blanket and grab a bite <strong>to</strong><br />
eat after your run/walk. Mocha Monkey will be providing hot and<br />
cold food and beverages, available for purchase at the event site.<br />
n ENTERTAINMENT<br />
A DJ set will be playing at the main stage <strong>to</strong> get you motivated<br />
for the race.<br />
n PRESENTATIONS<br />
Placegetter medals will be awarded <strong>to</strong> the first three female<br />
participants of the 5km and 10km run events. The walk is a noncompetitive,<br />
participant event with no prize for the first walker<br />
across the line. To compensate, we reserve more spot prizes for<br />
walker participants.
