After breakfast at the hotel, depart to Xi’ an, terminus of<br />
the <strong>Silk</strong> <strong>Road</strong>. Upon arrival, visit Big (Wild) Goose<br />
Pagoda, emblem of Xi’ an, marked as the starting point<br />
of the <strong>Silk</strong> <strong>Road</strong> to the West.<br />

Visit the excavation site of 8000 Terra Cotta Soldiers in<br />

onboard,drive to Maijishan Grotto, 194 cave shrines of<br />
this "Gallery of Oriental Sculpture' on a perpendicular<br />
mountain cliffs of Tianshui, provide shelters for 7200<br />
stone and clay figurines and 1300 sq-m of murals. Then<br />
visit National Fuximiao of China, designated temple to<br />
worship Fuxi, the first of the Three Sovereigns of ancient<br />
China. After dinner, embark the train and depart to<br />
Lanzhou.<br />

(Qara-hoja), built on the northern rim of the inhospitable<br />
Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang, China. It was a busy trading<br />
centre for the merchant traveling on the <strong>Silk</strong> <strong>Road</strong>, established<br />
during the Western Han Dynasty. You have chances to<br />
appreciate the charming traditional singing and dancing<br />
presented by the local Kazak people. Overnight stay in Turpan.<br />

June 07 (Fri) Lanzhou – Jiayuguan (<strong>Train</strong>) (B L D)<br />
Arrive Lanzhou in the morning. Visit Sculptures of the<br />
Mother River and Sun Yat-Sen Bridge, the first bridge<br />
across Yellow River. Taste the famous local specialty,<br />
“Lanzhou Noodle Soup” . After dinner, embark the train and<br />
depart to Jiayuquan, known as “Mouth of China” where it<br />
guarded the western boundary of Ming Dynasty China.<br />

June 08 (Sat) Jiayuguan – Jiuquan – Dunhuang<br />

Arrive Jiayuguan in the morning, visit Jianyuguan Fort. Then<br />
drive to Jiuquan (Wine Spring), named after legendary tale<br />
of the young Han general Huo Qubing,who poured a jar of<br />
precious wine into a local creek in order to share the taste<br />
with his troops, in celebration of their crushing victory<br />
against Xiongnu forces. Tour around the ancient town and<br />
visit the famous production of the Luminous Jade Cups in<br />
Jiuquan.<br />

Arrive Dunhuang in the morning, hotel check–in and refresh<br />

Day excursion to Mogao Caves, UNESCO World Heritage<br />
Site, also know as Caves of the Thousand Buddha, preserve<br />
nearly a thousand years of Buddhist cave-temple<br />
architecture, clay sculpture, mural paintings, and<br />
manuscripts, dating from the 5th to the <strong>14</strong>th centuries. After<br />
dinner, embark the train and depart to Turpan.<br />

Arrive the “Land of Fire” , Turpan in the morning. Visit<br />

June 12 (Wed) Turpan – Urumqi (Coach) (B L D)<br />
Visit Karez (qanats or wells system) water system, one of three<br />
greatest water projects of ancient China. Follow by visiting the<br />
local herdsman families of Kazakh nationality. Depart to Urumqi<br />
by coach, capital of Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. Upon<br />
arrival, visit Big Bazaar (Da Bazar), a traditional Islamic market<br />
area and the main Uyghur enclave in downtown Urumqi. Enjoy<br />
authentic Xinjiang dinner before check-in at the hotel.<br />
