After breakfast at the hotel, depart to Xi’ an, terminus of
the Silk Road. Upon arrival, visit Big (Wild) Goose
Pagoda, emblem of Xi’ an, marked as the starting point
of the Silk Road to the West.

Visit the excavation site of 8000 Terra Cotta Soldiers in
the morning, return to the city for lunch. Stroll around the
Muslin Street in the afternoon.After dinner, embark the
“Sinorama “, exclusive departure of New-Orient
Express. Depart to Tianshui.

onboard,drive to Maijishan Grotto, 194 cave shrines of
this "Gallery of Oriental Sculpture' on a perpendicular
mountain cliffs of Tianshui, provide shelters for 7200
stone and clay figurines and 1300 sq-m of murals. Then
visit National Fuximiao of China, designated temple to
worship Fuxi, the first of the Three Sovereigns of ancient
China. After dinner, embark the train and depart to
Lanzhou.

Then visit ruins of an ancient Silk Road oasis city, Gaochang
(Qara-hoja), built on the northern rim of the inhospitable
Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang, China. It was a busy trading
centre for the merchant traveling on the Silk Road, established
during the Western Han Dynasty. You have chances to
appreciate the charming traditional singing and dancing
presented by the local Kazak people. Overnight stay in Turpan.

June 07 (Fri) Lanzhou – Jiayuguan (Train) (B L D)
Arrive Lanzhou in the morning. Visit Sculptures of the
Mother River and Sun Yat-Sen Bridge, the first bridge
across Yellow River. Taste the famous local specialty,
“Lanzhou Noodle Soup” . After dinner, embark the train and
depart to Jiayuquan, known as “Mouth of China” where it
guarded the western boundary of Ming Dynasty China.

June 08 (Sat) Jiayuguan – Jiuquan – Dunhuang
(Train) (B L D)
Arrive Jiayuguan in the morning, visit Jianyuguan Fort. Then
drive to Jiuquan (Wine Spring), named after legendary tale
of the young Han general Huo Qubing,who poured a jar of
precious wine into a local creek in order to share the taste
with his troops, in celebration of their crushing victory
against Xiongnu forces. Tour around the ancient town and
visit the famous production of the Luminous Jade Cups in
Jiuquan.

June 09 (Sun) Dunhuang (B L D)
Arrive Dunhuang in the morning, hotel check–in and refresh
before the day tour to Mingshashan (Humming Sand Dunes)
and Yueyaquan (Crescent Moon Spring).

June 10 (Mon) Dunhuang – Turpan (Train) (B L D)
Day excursion to Mogao Caves, UNESCO World Heritage
Site, also know as Caves of the Thousand Buddha, preserve
nearly a thousand years of Buddhist cave-temple
architecture, clay sculpture, mural paintings, and
manuscripts, dating from the 5th to the 14th centuries. After
dinner, embark the train and depart to Turpan.

Arrive the “Land of Fire” , Turpan in the morning. Visit
“Flaming Mountain” , one of the legendary plots in the
Classical Chinese Mythological novel “Journey to the
West” .
June 12 (Wed) Turpan – Urumqi (Coach) (B L D)
Visit Karez (qanats or wells system) water system, one of three
greatest water projects of ancient China. Follow by visiting the
local herdsman families of Kazakh nationality. Depart to Urumqi
by coach, capital of Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. Upon
arrival, visit Big Bazaar (Da Bazar), a traditional Islamic market
area and the main Uyghur enclave in downtown Urumqi. Enjoy
authentic Xinjiang dinner before check-in at the hotel.
