WHAT WE DO...<br />
Our job in the Registration Service is to<br />
make sure that all the births, deaths,<br />
marriages and civil partnerships that take<br />
place in <strong>Barnsley</strong> are recorded.<br />
We complete the legal preliminaries prior to<br />
a marriage or a civil partnership and<br />
conduct civil ceremonies at the register<br />
office at the town hall and at venues<br />
throughout the borough.<br />
We issue copy certificates for family history<br />
and legal purposes.<br />
We conduct citizenship ceremonies for those<br />
who become British citizens.<br />
We arrange and conduct non legal<br />
ceremonies for families such as naming<br />
ceremonies and renewal of vows<br />
ceremonies.<br />
