<strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Data</strong> bundle will be able to access core services offered by blackberry. This<br />

3. What is the promotional period<br />

4. Will I have access to previous <strong>4G</strong> mobile data plans<br />

<br />

No. All previous <strong>4G</strong> mobile data plans will be removed and will not be accessible during<br />

the promotional period.<br />

5. What do I need to access <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Data</strong> Service<br />

<br />

A <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> capable device - Any 3G, <strong>4G</strong>, HSPA, HSPA+ Blackbery smartphone the<br />

850Mhz band.<br />

Proper Device Setting – The phone network setting must on 3G&2G or <strong>4G</strong>&2G or dual<br />

8. When the promotion begins how will my account be affected if I already have a <strong>4G</strong> mobile<br />

data plan<br />

9. PREPAID<br />

There will be no change made to current <strong>4G</strong> mobile a/c. Customers will still have the<br />

same allotted data value on their account until the plan renews.<br />

If the plan renews within the promotional period and their plan will be changed to the<br />

corresponding plan for the promotion<br />

10. POSTPAID<br />

Customers on a current <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Blackberry</strong> plan will be migrated to the new plans<br />

on the start date of the promotion (Wednesday September 12, 2012)


The customer’s account will be prorated for the current plan (September 1-11) and<br />

then prorated for the remainder of the month (September 12-30)<br />

11. When the promotion ends which plans will be available<br />

When the promotion ends, customers will have access to the previous <strong>4G</strong> mobile<br />

<strong>Blackberry</strong> data plans.<br />

12. What is a megabyte or gigabyte<br />

A megabyte (MB) or gigabyte (GB) is the measurement used for the amount of<br />

information that is sent and received from the Internet when you browse (WAP or<br />

WEB) or download content like ringtones, wallpaper, and games.<br />

Customers will be able to activate <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Data</strong> Bundle plans by using<br />

USSD codes:<br />

• Customers will be required to dial *136# send.<br />

• After dialing the initiation code customers will receive messages to select the<br />

available 2G plans or select a <strong>4G</strong> plan by dialing (*136*400#). See messages below<br />

• There have a thirty (30) minute window within which to complete and submit the<br />

activation request after the text instructions are received.<br />

• Once the customer completes the activation they will receive a text message that<br />

16. How long does my plan take to activate<br />

The plan will activate immediately for prepaid customers, once the customer enters<br />

the required USSD codes. A confirmation message will be sent to indicate the<br />

completion of the activation.<br />

For postpaid customers, once the activation request is complete the <strong>Data</strong> Bundle will<br />

be activated within 5 to 30 minutes of the customer care agent receiving the request.


It is advised NOT to browse until a confirmation text message is received advising that the <strong>Data</strong><br />

bundle has been provisioned and a battery pull is done for all devices. Use of service without<br />

completion of the activation process will result in charges of $40 per MB.<br />

17. How will I know that I am connected to <strong>Digicel</strong>’s <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> Network<br />

<br />

Once you change your phone settings, remove and replace the battery or power off/on<br />

the device, the coverage icon will change to 3G, 3G+, <strong>4G</strong> or H+. What is displayed is<br />

dependent on the device.<br />

18. Who can sign up for a <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Data</strong> Bundle<br />

All <strong>Digicel</strong> customers with a <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Blackberry</strong> phone and an active postpaid/prepaid<br />

account may activate a <strong>Data</strong> Bundle.<strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Data</strong> Bundle plans can be<br />

accessed from any <strong>Blackberry</strong> phone that is GSM/EDGE, 3G/<strong>4G</strong> or HSPDA and<br />

compatible with the <strong>Digicel</strong> network.<br />

Customers with <strong>Blackberry</strong> devices that are not 3G/<strong>4G</strong> compatible should not subscribe<br />

to the <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Data</strong> Bundle service. . Customers with 2G devices should<br />

be encouraged to sign up to our 2G <strong>Data</strong> packages that are available OR upgrade their<br />

phone to 3G/<strong>4G</strong> compatible device and then activate <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Data</strong> Plan.<br />

19. Am I able to activate a <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Data</strong> bundle using a Non <strong>Blackberry</strong> phone<br />

No. Customers will not be able to activate any of the 4 available <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> <strong>Blackberry</strong><br />

Attempting to activate customers will receive a text message advising that the phone is<br />

incompatible.<br />

20. What happens if a customer exhausts the allotted bundle allowance (MB/GB) of the<br />

package purchased, before the plan time ends<br />

Option 1:


If a customer exceeds their allotted bundle usage for their selected <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong><br />

<strong>Blackberry</strong> <strong>Data</strong> bundle they will be charged at a rate of $15 per MB (prepaid) or $10<br />

per MB (postpaid) once their purchased plan has not expired.<br />

This overage charge will apply for all usage over the bundle allowance until the end of<br />

the plan once the customer does not re-subscribe (to the same plan or change the<br />

plan).<br />

Option 2: Prepaid Customers only<br />

Once the bundle is exhausted, the customer may choose to re-subscribe to the same<br />

plan or upgrade to a higher plan.<br />

The customer is required to dial *136*5*plancode# to renew current plan (early<br />

The customer is immediately given a new plan with a full bundle allocation and time on<br />

Prepaid customers will receive a warning message 2 days and 1 day before expiry<br />

notifying that the plan will be automatically renewed at the start of the new period.<br />

If the customer does nothing, the plan will renew at the start of the next period and<br />

the customer will receive a text message confirming that the plan has been renewed.<br />

All plans will auto renew excluding the 1 day 500MB plan (PREPAID). The customer will be<br />

required to reactivate this plan at the end of the current plan.<br />

Postpaid <strong>Blackberry</strong> plans will expire at the end of the billing period<br />

26. Can I download ringtones, wallpaper or games using the <strong>4G</strong> <strong>Mobile</strong> Prepaid <strong>Data</strong> bundle<br />

These charges are not covered by the <strong>Data</strong> Bundle plan. Customers will be charged for<br />

downloading premium content from premium WAP or WEB sites at the prevailing<br />

All plans will auto renew excluding the 1 day 500MB plan (prepaid). The customer will<br />

speeds even though the phone is 3G/<strong>4G</strong> compatible.<br />

Customers may be required to do a manual search to be able to access <strong>4G</strong> services<br />

from their 3G/<strong>4G</strong> phone. It is recommended to:<br />

• Select network mode as 2G and 3G<br />

• Carry out a manual network search<br />

• Select the <strong>Digicel</strong> network<br />

34. Can I activate the data bundle on two SIM cards using the same phone<br />
