Short-Term Fellowships
Short-Term Fellowships are intended for researchers who wish
to spend 2 weeks to 3 months working in a laboratory in
another country to learn or develop new techniques or to use
instruments or techniques not available in their own country.
Preference is given to independent young research workers,
early in their careers. Applicants are expected to have a doctoral
degree or equivalent experience in research. Applications can be
made at any time during the year. Applications submitted in
one fiscal year may be reported as awarded in the next fiscal
year. Thus the statistics reported in this section reflect
the multiple fiscal year processing of these fellowships.
The awards made since the beginning of the Program are shown
in Fig. 3-6 5 .
