Chess Dynamics Stand S7-445
Press release – for immediate release
Mamba set to bolster FOBs defence capability
Chess Dynamics has launched an integrated optical sight using high accuracy
direct drive technology that it claims will strengthen the defences of light
armoured vehicles and mobile forward operating bases (FOBs).
Evolved from the successful naval IOTA fire control director in service with the
Royal Navy, Mamba is a light, compact sensor with high stabilisation
capability (gyro enabled).
Its 8-12 µm uncooled thermal 17 µm imager helps give the medium-range
Mamba the sensitivity to detect personnel at 2.9km, critical when FOBs need
to protect their perimeters and determine whether friendly or enemy personnel
are in the vicinity.
Also intended for application on unmanned ground vehicles, lightweight
protected police vehicles and armed Jeeps, Mamba is expected to find ready
use in the rapid deployed forward operating bases (FOBs) on mast-mounted
telescopic installations, thanks to its gyrostabilised capability and precision
pointing accuracy in day- or night-time deployment.
Launched initially for land applications, Chess Dynamics says a maritime
version of Mamba is on its road map.
