Program - Piedmont College

NOLAN GARRETT hails from the small town of Shady Dale,
Ga. He is a junior Theatre Performance major. In his freshman
year at Piedmont, Nolan was cast in three out of four plays:
You Can’t Take It With You, The Magic Is Me, and As You Like
It. He also ran lighting for the final show, Boys Next Door. This
summer, Nolan helped found the North Georgia Theatre for
Youth and performed in Hansel and Gretel.
Justin Gilleland is third year transfer student from ABAC.
He is a mass communications major and theatre minor from
Fitzgerald, Georgia. While at Piedmont, Justin has performed
in Almost, Maine, Asylum, and Messiah on the Fridgidare,
and most recently in The Tempest. He is also a member of
Piedmont’s tennis team. After graduation, he hopes to work
in Broadcast Journalism.
Jamie Hazelhurst is a freshman Theatre Performance
major here at Piedmont. This is her second production at
Piedmont College with her first being Mayella Ewell in To
Kill a Mockingbird. She was also a participant in the Georgia
Governor’s Honors Program as a Theatre major, and has been
in multiple community and high school shows. In the near
future, Jamie plans to go to school for acting in London and
start a modeling and acting career.
Britt Hensley is a senior theatre education major at
Piedmont College. During her years at school, Britt has
enjoyed her involvement with shows like Trojan Woman, Sure
Thing, Godspell, The Shadow Box, Steel Magnolias, To Kill a
Mockingbird, and The Elephant Man. She was also a part of
North Georgia Theatre’s inaugural season and hopes to be
involved with future seasons to come.
Alexandra Mahoney is a sophomore at Piedmont
College and very excited to be a part of the Theatre program.
She was recently seen as Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird. She
has been involved in other theatre programs since childhood.
Some of her more recent roles, before Piedmont, include
Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Elizabeth in Frankenstein.
Chelsey McCleskey is a freshman musical theatre major
at Piedmont College who lives for the stage. Previous theatre
credits include Millie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie,
Babette in Beauty and the Beast, Lizzie Curry in 110 in the
Shade, Ariel Moore in Footloose, and more.
Matt McClure is a sophomore theatre major from
Kennesaw, Georgia. He most recently appeared in North
Georgia Theatre’s Arsenic and Old Lace and Piedmont’s
South Pacific. Matt is excited to continue his second year at
Piedmont and further his acting experience. In the future, he
hopes to travel and perform in a variety of plays and venue.
Jacob McKee is a freshman theatre performance major at
Piedmont College. He is from McDonough, Georgia, where
he graduated from Henry County High School. Before starting
his tenure at Piedmont, some of his favorite roles included
Tobias in Sweeney Todd, Carmen Ghia in The Producers,
Touchstone in As You Like It, and Friar Lawrence in Romeo
and Juliet
Laura Merritt is a freshman Musical Theatre major at
Piedmont College. She graduated from Flowery Branch High
School where she has been cast as roles in plays like Anything
Goes, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and
Grease. She plans to pursue theatre performance and/or
directing as a career.
Tamara Rainwater is a sophomore Theatre Education
major from Lawrenceville, Ga. During her first year at piedmont
She appeared in The Elephant Man, Aesop’s Fables, The
Tempest and most recently in Little Red Riding Hood and The
Three Little Pigs. Tamara has been a dancer since she was
three years old and she co-choreographed The Tempest and
the student capstone production of Station to Station. After
college, Tamara plans to open her own theatre and dance
studio.
Melissa Rice was born in Bozeman, Montana, but grew
up in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She is a Sophomore theatre
education major, photography minor. Melissa made her
college debut at Piedmont as Shelby in Steel Magnolias. She
was Miranda in Shakespeare’s The Tempest and designed
costumes for To Kill a Mockingbird.
Kallie Robinson is a freshman Theatre Education major
at Piedmont College. She spent her high school years in
Grayson, but now calls Lawrenceville, Georgia home. She
spends most of her time behind the scenes as a technician,
but has been known to wander onto the stage for plays such
as Almost Maine, Treasure Island, and Scapin. Kallie has big
plans for her future, including teaching theatre in high school
and eventually acquiring her doctorate to teach at the college
level. Until then she hopes to soak up as much experiance as
possible, never forgetting where her roots are and who she
loves all along the way.
