III. JESUS WANTS US TO SETTLE DISPUTES QUICKLY.
25. “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you
to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your
adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand
you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. 26. Truly
I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny”
(Matthew 5:25, 26).
A. We need to humble ourselves to God and others when we have
disputes with others.
B. We need to overcome our pride to settle disputes with others.
7. “The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you
have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be
wronged Why not rather be cheated 8. Instead, you yourselves
cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters”
(1 Corinthians 6:7, 8).
Point to Ponder:
• Do your best before God to live at peace with everyone.
Application:
• If you have anger in your heart for another, please ask God to help you
forgive the other person and bring your emotions under control.
• If you have an unresolved issue with someone else, please ask God to
help you set up a meeting for reconciliation with the other person.
• If you have been offended or hurt by another person or persons and
need to bring the situation to God, please write the situation on a piece
of paper and bring your paper to the altar.
