Transportation
Brown Bus is the charter company that will transport us to and from ski areas. These are charter
coach buses not school buses. All gear must be packed in bags that will fit under the seat or in
the luggage rack above the seats or below the bus. Please do not bring huge bags.
Safety
All students must wear a helmet whether snowboarding or skiing! Goldstock’s Sporting Goods
will provide a 20% discount on all helmets sold to ski club members.
“Helmet use by skiers and snowboarders could prevent or reduce the severity of
44% of head injuries to adults, and 54% of head injuries to children under the age
of 15.” (U.S. Consumer and Product Safety Commission)
To ensure proper release of skis and snowboards, be sure to have a binding release check
performed by a qualified person. (Goldstock’s offers this service)
Ski and Snowboard Locks
It is highly suggested that all students lock their skis or snowboards at the ski areas. It is advised
to keep a record of the brand name, size of the equipment and any serial numbers. In the event of
theft, this may help you recover some of the cost from insurance companies or it may help us
locate stolen equipment. Students should also lock up any personal items at the ski areas.
Clothing and Cold Weather
The club is a ski and snowboard club. It will be cold. Be sure that your son/daughter has the
proper clothing for staying outside in very cold temperatures. It is most important that they have
goggles, ski jackets, ski pants, gloves or mittens and thermal underwear that will ensure their
warmth; I suggest purchasing a hat and a neck warmer to protect their face from windburn and
frostbite.
Parent Participants: If there is room on the bus, parents are invited to join us!
