Graduate/Professional Education<br />
Of <strong>Posse</strong> alumni who have been out of college for two<br />
or more years, 41 percent are currently in or have already<br />
completed a graduate program, and an additional 46<br />
percent plan to pursue a graduate or professional degree<br />
(see Chart 4.1). <strong>The</strong> wide array of graduate school degrees<br />
alumni have received is presented in Chart 4.2.<br />
In the United States today, Blacks and Hispanics<br />
are largely underrepresented in the overall distribution of<br />
master’s, professional and doctoral degree recipients. In<br />
2009 alone, only 10 percent of these degree recipients<br />
were Black and 6 percent were Hispanic. 15 <strong>Posse</strong> alumni<br />
are helping diversify the pool of the most educated people<br />
in the country.<br />
