The Focus<br />
The <strong>YMCA</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>South</strong> <strong>Palm</strong> Beach County’s mission is to put Christian principles<br />
into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.<br />
Our curriculum philosophy is based on the Creative Curriculum, which respects the<br />
ideas, interests and development <strong>of</strong> each child. Class projects and emergent themes<br />
are developed through collaboration <strong>of</strong> the children in a rich environment,<br />
which provokes exploration, curiosity and creativity. Literacy, language development,<br />
mathematics, science, gross and fine motor skills and swim instruction are<br />
integrated into the curriculum. Our program encourages exploration, creativity<br />
and self-expression through developmentally appropriate activities. Child-guided<br />
learning experiences support healthy spiritual, intellectual and physical<br />
development. <strong>YMCA</strong> staff members portray positive role models while providing<br />
care, which is supportive, nurturing, warm and responsive to each child’s needs.<br />
<strong>YMCA</strong> character values <strong>of</strong> caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are<br />
incorporated into our daily curricula.<br />
