Mission . CONNECTIONS is an <strong>of</strong>ficial publication <strong>of</strong> <strong>INSNA</strong> . Its primary<br />

purpose is to support network analysis in general and <strong>INSNA</strong> members in<br />

particular by providing a method <strong>of</strong> pooling and sharing news about <strong>the</strong><br />

membership, tools for teaching and research, data for analysis and results <strong>of</strong><br />

scientific investigations . Wherever possible, items referenced in CONNECT-<br />

IONS (such as data and s<strong>of</strong>tware) are made available electronically via our<br />

WWW site, located at http :llwww.heinz .cmu .edu/project/<strong>INSNA</strong>/. The web site<br />

provides access to a directory <strong>of</strong> members' email addresses, network datasets,<br />

s<strong>of</strong>tware programs, and o<strong>the</strong>r items that lend <strong>the</strong>mselves to electronic storage .<br />

In addition, <strong>the</strong> web site provides updated information on upcoming conferences<br />

.<br />

Policy. CONNECTIONS welcomes short articles, data, s<strong>of</strong>tware, course<br />

materials, news and advertisements dealing with network analysis . Articles are<br />

peer-reviewed and will be edited for content and style . Authors are automatically<br />

granted <strong>the</strong> right to republish <strong>the</strong>ir material in o<strong>the</strong>r journals or<br />

books, provided appropriate citation is made .<br />

Contributions . All materials should be submitted in electronic form, ei<strong>the</strong>r<br />

via email ( borgatts@bc .edu ) or IBM-compatible diskettes . This includes all<br />

text, figures and tables in articles (files may be sent in any wordprocessing<br />

and/or graphics format) . Articles and o<strong>the</strong>r text materials should also be<br />

accompanied by printed versions (2 copies) . Send contributions to<br />
