Building Fund Fee<br />

The Building Fund Fee is a non-refundable fee<br />

for all adults who sign up for a membership.<br />

This fee ($75/adult) is used to maintain <strong>the</strong> Y’s<br />

Service.<br />

Y Financial Assistance<br />

No one is turned away from <strong>the</strong> Y due to an<br />

Cancellation Policy<br />

To cancel simply notify us in writing a minimum<br />

<strong>of</strong> five days before your payment date,<br />

Child minding is for people with family<br />

memberships ages 0-8 years. We ask that<br />

parent(s) /guardian(s) remain in <strong>the</strong> facility<br />

when using this service. Time limit <strong>of</strong> 90<br />

minutes. (9:00 am - 10:30 am, 10:30 am -<br />

12:00 pm, 4:00 - 5:30 pm, 5:30 - 7:00 pm).<br />

A basic introduction for those<br />

interested in learning how to<br />

play <strong>the</strong> sport but have not had<br />

Intermediate/Advanced<br />

Handball<br />

A more technical and advanced<br />

handball program. It is suggested<br />

that you are comfortable playing<br />

a game <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> sport, or attend<br />

beginner handball first, before<br />

coming to this program. Staff<br />

Handball Match Play<br />

This program is available for<br />

children who are able to play a<br />

full game <strong>of</strong> handball, and where<br />

all children present will get time<br />

Hip Hop<br />

Get your feet moving! An urbanstyle<br />

dance class using popular<br />

tunes from today and taught<br />

balance and strength while getting<br />

your heart rate going.<br />

T-Ball<br />

A sport based on baseball that is<br />

intended as an introduction for<br />

children to develop baseball skills<br />

and have fun. Staff supervised.<br />

Ultimate Disc<br />

This is an exciting game that<br />

incorporates running, passing<br />

and strategy while using a flying<br />

disc. Bring a friend and have a<br />

blast while getting an excellent<br />

cardiovascular workout. No<br />

experience required.<br />

Leaders in Training<br />

Youth join toge<strong>the</strong>r to explore<br />

what it means to be a leader in <strong>the</strong><br />

community. LIT participants may<br />

also have <strong>the</strong> chance to be part <strong>of</strong> a<br />

reciprocal summer youth exchange<br />

trip. Staff supervised.<br />

Strength Training for<br />

Athletes<br />

This class is designed to give teens<br />

an introduction to cardio and<br />

resistance training, safe exercise<br />

practices and conditioning centre<br />

expectations. The class is for all<br />

levels and can progress to free<br />

• Children 0-5 years are supervised<br />

by a parent/guardian (min. 16 years<br />

old) in <strong>the</strong> water within arm’s reach<br />

(1:1 with no lifejacket, 1:2 with<br />

lifejacket).<br />

• Children 6-11 years who can pass<br />

<strong>the</strong> swim test can be supervised<br />

by a parent/guardian (1:8 from<br />

<strong>the</strong> pool deck, 1:2 in water for<br />

non-swimmers with no lifejackets,<br />

1:8 in water for non-swimmer with<br />

lifejackets).<br />

The resistance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> water provides<br />

a total body workout.<br />

Community Access <strong>Program</strong> (CAP)<br />

The Community Access <strong>Program</strong> (CAP) site at <strong>the</strong> EYC <strong>of</strong>fers public<br />

computer access. Hours <strong>of</strong> operation are posted, and updated as necessary,<br />

on <strong>the</strong> CAP hours <strong>of</strong> operation sign, posted at <strong>the</strong> entrance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> EYC.<br />

In addition to computer access, <strong>the</strong> CAP site provides individual assistance<br />

with basic computer skills and training on various topics. Starting in<br />

November <strong>2013</strong>, interactive, user friendly workshops will be <strong>of</strong>fered on <strong>the</strong><br />

following topics:<br />

• Micros<strong>of</strong>t Word, Power Point, Excel<br />

• Computer Basics 101<br />

• Internet Safety for Children<br />

• Email Etiquette<br />

• Digital Reputation Management<br />
