Broadcasting.
The TV Production 1 class
is currently editing the
movies they have been producing this nine weeks.
They are doing an amazing job and having fun with
it! This project included the students writing a short
narrative. They then presented the narratives to the
class and voted on the two they would like to
produce. They voted on “The Lockdown” by
Stephanie Yoo and “Indian Idol” by Charis
Wiegand. They fully produced the movie: writing
the scripts using correct format, as well as
operating the cameras and tripods as well as
microphones. They are now in the editing stage.
KICK BUTTS DAY: April 9, 2008
On Kick Butts Day (KBD)

STAND OUT...SPEAK UP... and
SEIZE CONTROL in the fight
against Tobacco! KBD is the
Campaign for Tobacco Free
Kids' annual celebration of youth leadership and
activism. On April 9 th , students at Choctaw will
educate their peers about the dangers of tobacco,
while giving them tools to take matters into their
own hands and achieve real results in tobacco
prevention, control and education. Several booths
will be set-up during school hours to provide
information regarding statistics and prevention as
well as visual displays. Tobacco is the leading
cause of preventable death and disease in our
society. By giving students a chance to make
decisions about tobacco and make a difference in
society, youth become more empowered to say
"No" to tobacco. Please, start talking to your child
about tobacco and the risks involved with its use.
You don't have to wait until April 9th - there is no
time like the present to start this journey. Students
are faced with so many social, peer, and academic
pressures, the last thing they need is to find release
through tobacco.

Ace Awards
The Award of Civic
Excellence is a monthly
recognition the FWB
Mayor and City Council
awards to one Choctaw
and one FWB student,
based on
civic/government
activities, school
activities,
community/charitable/or
ganizational activities, and other noteworthy student
accomplishments. Last month’s winner from Choctaw
was Lynnlee Massarelli.
Northwest Florida Blood Drive
The next blood drive will be held April 25th.
Prom Portraits
Bill Miller Photography is offering formal portrait
packages of individuals that were taken at the prom
for $40. The package includes a framed 10 x13
portrait, as well as four wallets. These are not the
"couple" or "friends" portraits that were previously
purchased. The packages will be given to students
after Spring Break and can be purchased or
