1. POSEIDON, UNDERGROUND LABYRINTH Czech Republic 40 min<br />

In the north of the Czech Republic, among the Adršpašsko-Teplické Cliffs, lies an amazing, longundiscovered<br />

system of underground spaces. This underground labyrinth is called Poseidon. It was<br />

named after the ancient god of the seas, the origin of the present sandstone rocks.<br />

2. CAVING WITH MONKS Switzerland 26 min<br />

Caving with Monks is a documentary about a reconnaissance trip to the Hopong area of the Shan<br />

Plateau in Myanmar (Burma), which is since a long time off limits to foreigners. The aim of the<br />

January 2010 expedition was to explore and survey caves in this devout Buddhist mountain area of<br />

the Pa-O tribe. Finding that the monks were responsible for the caves, the team began negotiations<br />

to gain access. This made a culturally rich expedition experience as the team began caving with the<br />

monks.<br />

3. LAOS CAVING EXPEDITION JANUARY 2009 Switzerland 20 min<br />

The documentary shows the exploration of the Chom Ong Cave System in the Heart of Northern<br />

Laos in the Oudomxay Province. The local village claimed to a development project to have the<br />

longest cave in Laos. The Northern Lao European Cave Project decided to have a look and was<br />

surprised by a 17 km long system in an unsuspicious shallow ridge. Chom Ong Cave is now the 3 rd<br />

longest cave in Laos and the 10 th longest cave in Southeast Asia.<br />

4. ABAGAIL’S UNDERGROUND Spain 24 min<br />

A surreal comedy where Abigail follows a caver into the underground world and meets a number of<br />

caver characters. A surveyor and photographer, Gueen of the Ropes etc.<br />

5. HIDDEN WORLDS <strong>OF</strong> YUCATAN II MEGATHERIUM Czech Republic 24 min<br />

Exciting document about discovery of prehistorical sloth’s skeleton deep in cave system, which is<br />

situated under the surface of wild tropical jungle of Mexican Yucatan. The discovery of the skeleton<br />

of mammal, which is at least 17000 years old, provoked discussion of paleontologists all over the<br />

world.


6. VERTICAVITE (VERTICAVE) France 9:30 min<br />

Some stories can't be written from left to right. The one of water has to be written vertically for it is<br />

subject to the law of gravity that makes it sink into the ground. Cavers follow that same way to the<br />

depths. As they follow water, or look for it, they use the same path that it carved out while going<br />

down. The authors wish to share an aesthetic aspect of speleology, using pictures of cave<br />

exploration in France and abroad.<br />

7. HONEY CREEK CAVE EXTRAVAGANZA USA, Texas 39:56 min<br />

Honey Creek Cave is the longest surveyed cave in Texas. In January of <strong>2013</strong> two cave divers with<br />

a support crew of nearly 70 cave adventurers pushed into uncharted regions of the cave and<br />

surveyed new passages only accessible to cave divers. This video documents this difficult and<br />

dangerous undertaking ten stories beneath the earth and three and a half miles from the nearest<br />

exit. The final push is recorded as it happened in glorious HD video.<br />

8. THE LAST ADVENTURE Czech Republic 29:15 min<br />

Since 1986 a group of Czech, and later also Polish speleologists, have been exploring and<br />

documenting the glacier karst of southern Svalbard in the area of Hornsund and Belsund fjords. The<br />

fourteenth expedition to the inside of the glacier took place in 2010. The documentary film “The<br />

Last Adventure” depicts not only the expedition and its discoveries in the field of glaciospeleology,<br />

but also the discovery of the northernmost documented limestone cave in the world.<br />

9. THE REALM <strong>OF</strong> SCARISOARA Romania 24:43 min<br />

The film presents the touristic and scientific value of Scarisoara Ice Cave, Garda de Sus, County<br />

Alba, Romania, the history of researches that estimated it to be the largest (120,000 – 130,000<br />

cubic meters), and oldest (over 10,000 years) underground ice block in the world. It presents Iosif<br />

Viehmann, at 87 years, the world’s oldest active caver. It presents the successful reconstruction of a<br />

nursery bat roost in Poarta lui Ionele cave, made by local caving club Sfinx and the legal conflict<br />

with the Director of Apuseni Natural Park that was generated in an environment of excessive<br />

bureaucracy.<br />

10. “NEW CAVE FROM 1882” Croatia 16:30 min<br />

The film „New Cave from 1882“is dedicated to the first known map surveyor in Croatia. Croatian<br />

cavers visited the cave „Mala pecina“after 130 years and made new explorations and surveying and<br />

also found new archeological artifacts.

12. A NEW DIMENSION United Kingdom 3:17 min<br />

Want a new perspective on what is possible in a caving video This is a short video made up of over<br />

1000 still photos. What’s more is that to achieve some of the mind-boggling effects many of the<br />

images took over 5 minutes each! (no photoshop editing was made to any of the images).<br />

13. EL SÓTANO DE LAS GOLONDRINAS Mexico 10:58 min<br />

One of the 13 wonders of Mexico captures the attention of the world. The deep abyss is a cave that<br />

reaches a depth of 515 meters below the karst plain. Members of Asociacion Coahuilense de<br />

Espeleologia, A.C. return to explore the Sotano of Golondrinas with new club members to<br />

undertake a personal challenge. At the end of the video, they send best wishes to Monica Ponce, to<br />

have a better health. Monica was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Now she is a survivor of<br />

breast cancer. It is important to us, because she edited this video when she undergone the<br />

chemotherapy, and now we want to share with you, because we want to say THANK YOU CAVERS<br />

<strong>OF</strong> THE WORLD for helping our friend in her treatments. ACEAC Team.<br />

14. LAS CUEVAS DE COAHUILA Mexico 10:58 min<br />

The Asociacion Coahuilense de Espeleologia, A.C. present the story about two caves in Saltillo. How<br />

we discovered it and what we found in it. The Marimba Cave is a wonderful cave into a Sierra<br />

Zapaliname, and Coyote cave or Letrina cave is a hypogenic cave, in Bunuelos, Coahuila and made a<br />

comparison with the book of Jules Verne. Is a small history about both caves discovery.<br />

15. CONQUEST <strong>OF</strong> DOME <strong>OF</strong> SILENCE Czech Republic 13:26 min<br />

This document describes activities of the speleological club “Býčí Skála” in years 2010-2011. The<br />

main goal of this endeavor was to make access via a dry passage between the Barová Cave and Býčí<br />

skála-Rudické Propadání Cave System which has not been possible up to this point. The main goal<br />

was the access to the Dome of Silence.<br />

17. HADÍ JESKYNĚ (SNAKE CAVE) - SLOVENIA Czech Republic 15:40 min<br />

The film „Hadí jeskyně“ is about difficult research of the third longest cave system in Slovenia<br />

(Southern Europe). Members of Czech Speleological Society organized here for the third time<br />

international expedition focused on research of the outflow part of the 16 km long cave. During<br />

the expedition in 2011, a diver dove past 2 difficult sumps and stopped the exploration in front of<br />

the third sump.<br />

18. <strong>OF</strong> BATS AND DARKNESS Czech Republic 30 min<br />

A movie introducing the topic of bats research in Europe and various aspects of bat biology.<br />

Particular attentions is paid to several model taxa of European bats which illustrate variation in<br />

habitat selection, roosting biology and reproduction and current discoveries demonstrating<br />

unexpected faces of bat biology.<br />

19. ILLUZIA CAVE Russia 15:00 min<br />

20. CAVING IN THE ABODE <strong>OF</strong> THE CLOUDS PROJECT Romania 8:00 min<br />

The Caving in the Abode of the Clouds Meghalaya India slideshow, presents images from the<br />

speleological exploration with the same name organized in <strong>2013</strong> by the Meghalaya Adventurers<br />

Association, together with Caving in the Abode of the Clouds Project, with an international<br />

participation: Switzerland, Great Britain, Austria, Germany, Ireland India and Romania. Although<br />

the expedition was mainly concentrated on research and survey of new developed caves,<br />

focusing on the karstic caves of Pala Range, Jaintia Hills Regions. We show the beauty of these<br />

unknown caves, form this part of world.<br />

21. CHINA CAVES PROJECT AND ANDY EAVIS China 10:00 min<br />

Since the first caving team entered mainland China in 1985, there have been 23 times of cave coexploration<br />

between the institute of karst geology, China and Andy Eavis and his friends, and these<br />

expeditions have been supported by China Caves Project set up by Andy Eavis. It has occured<br />

around China, and lots of wonderful caves, cave chambers and tiankengs were discovered, some<br />

of them have been used to establish national geopark, global geopark, even world natural heritage<br />

sites. It records vividly the activities of Andy Eavis and his friends during caving in China.


22. EXPEDITION “LUKINA JAMA 2010” Croatia 26:00 min<br />

The movie “Ekspedicija Lukina jama 2010” is about the speleological research expedition in Lukina<br />

jama pit. It was organized by Speleological section Velebit and the Speleological Committee of the<br />

Croatian Mountaineering Association in cooperation with Northern Velebit National Park. The goal<br />

of the expedition was cave diving to the bottom of the pit that is on – 1400m, for the purpose of<br />

extending the depth of the pit. During the expedition two dives were made in Congeria siphon at<br />

the bottom of Lukina jama. The first dive in the length of 135m and depth 20 m were made by<br />

Ivica Ćukušić and Robert Erhardt, and the second dive in length from 135 to 40m depth was<br />

performed by Barn;ko Jalžić.<br />

23. VORONYA (KRUBERA) - CAVEX TEAM EXPEDITION AUTUM 2009 Croatia 16:50 min<br />

In the period from October 23 to November 19, 2009, Robert Erhard and Darko Bakšić, members of<br />

the Velebit Speleological Section, the Speleological Committee of Croatian Mountaineering<br />

Association and the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, took part in and Expedition into Voronya,<br />

the deepest known cave in the world (-2,191m). The expedition was organized by an international<br />

speleological CaveX team led by Denis Provalov and Oleg Klimchouk. The goal of the expedition<br />

was to enlarge one side passage at a depth of -1,980m in order to bypass the Kvitochka siphon,<br />

which would allow easier transport of diving and other equipment to the Dva Kapitana siphon.
