HPS COMMON FAILURE MODE SOLVED BY <strong>IWASAKI</strong> ENGINEERING:<br />
1. Leakage at the sealed end <strong>of</strong> the niobium exhaust tubes<br />
<strong>EYE</strong>/Iwasaki engineers developed a plasma welding process to<br />
reliably seal the ends <strong>of</strong> High Pressure Sodium arc tubes. The<br />
plasma seal prevents arc tube leakage, which is a common<br />
problem for lamps that use a mechanical crimp sealing process.<br />
2. Sodium leakage through frit seals<br />
<strong>EYE</strong>/Iwasaki scientists have perfected the formula <strong>of</strong> the frit<br />
ring materials and sealing process to reduce sodium leakage<br />
through the frit sealing area to ensure long-life operation.<br />
3. Impurities introduced in the arc tube sealing process<br />
<strong>EYE</strong>/Iwasaki engineers have developed a high<br />
temperature, ultra pure, vacuum sealing process<br />
that eliminates sealing and dosing impurities<br />
improving lamp life.<br />
<strong>EYE</strong>/Iwasaki is the world leader<br />

by <strong>of</strong>fering the widest selection<br />
<strong>of</strong> choices to upgrade an<br />
existing HID lighting system to<br />
