• Student Success Program: <strong>The</strong> Student Study Program (SSP) is designed to <strong>of</strong>fer additional academic<br />

support for students enrolled in large classes th<strong>at</strong> have proven to be historically difficult. <strong>The</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> the<br />

SSP is to provide students with the opportunity to form collabor<strong>at</strong>ive study groups <strong>of</strong> up to 4 students.<br />

Students will be m<strong>at</strong>ched by the program coordin<strong>at</strong>or with other students in the same course and section<br />

• If you send me an email, please allow me <strong>at</strong> least 24 hours to respond. Please do not repe<strong>at</strong>edly send me<br />

the same email if you do not hear back from me right away.<br />

• I believe th<strong>at</strong> your educ<strong>at</strong>ion is your primary responsibility. It is your job to prepare for and keep up with<br />

assignments. Some students have commented th<strong>at</strong> there is too much work in this course. Accounting courses<br />

in general are challenging as they cover a vast amount <strong>of</strong> m<strong>at</strong>erial. Deadlines are set, but it is in your hands<br />

as to whether or not you do all the work on the last day or you plan ahead and spread it out.<br />

• This course is a critically important portion <strong>of</strong> the business curriculum <strong>at</strong> UNCG. (If you are an accounting<br />

major, you should not take this course, but take <strong>ACC</strong> 218 instead.) It is also very time intensive. You may<br />

find it necessary to read the textbook m<strong>at</strong>erial more than once to fully absorb it. Chapters 1-3 are<br />

fundamental! Please note th<strong>at</strong> the chapter assignments may only represent the minimum amount <strong>of</strong> work<br />

necessary to gain an understanding <strong>of</strong> the m<strong>at</strong>erial covered in this course.<br />

• <strong>The</strong>re are no opportunities for “extra credit” in this course. Each assignment is an opportunity to improve<br />

your grade.<br />
