You may also visit me during my office hours. • Student Success Program: The Student Study Program (SSP) is designed to offer additional academic support for students enrolled in large classes that have proven to be historically difficult. The purpose of the SSP is to provide students with the opportunity to form collaborative study groups of up to 4 students. Please do not repeatedly send me the same email if you do not hear back from me right away. • I believe that your education is your primary responsibility. It is your job to prepare for and keep up with assignments. Some students have commented that there is too much work in this course. Accounting courses in general are challenging as they cover a vast amount of material. Deadlines are set, but it is in your hands as to whether or not you do all the work on the last day or you plan ahead and spread it out. • This course is a critically important portion of the business curriculum at UNCG. (If you are an accounting major, you should not take this course, but take ACC 218 instead.) It is also very time intensive. You may find it necessary to read the textbook material more than once to fully absorb it. Chapters 1-3 are fundamental! Please note that the chapter assignments may only represent the minimum amount of work necessary to gain an understanding of the material covered in this course. • There are no opportunities for “extra credit” in this course. Each assignment is an opportunity to improve your grade. 4
