About SETTEC, INC.
Settec, Inc., spun off from LG in 1997, established itself as a pioneer in content protection services with the development of its trademark Alpha-DISC
optical disc media copy protection technology which includes: Alpha-ROM, Alpha-Audio, Alpha-DVD and Alpha-DPS. Since 2002, Settec, Inc. has

Alpha-ROM uses Digital Signature and Authentication Routine to protect discs. Programs in Alpha-ROM disc can be only installed
or run when the original Alpha-ROM is inserted. In addition to Digital Signature, Alpha-ROM is protected with Anti-Crack.
The following statements explain each protection type in more details.
A. Digital Signature
Digital Signature uses unique identifier and cannot be copied to another disc using a burning tool.
B. Encryption
Encryption is applied to the executable files, which authenticates the disc when the program runs. The encryption cannot be
modified by any third party.
C. Anti-Crack(Crack-Proof)
Many anti-cracks are being developed targeting at specific copy protection solutions available in the market; however,
Alpha-ROM has strong anti-crack embedded which is protected even from various kinds of cracks, such as Memory Dump or
Reverse Engineering.
