SMA introduces session for physician spouses
The Physician Health Program (PHP) assists physicians
struggling with a variety of personal issues, including physician
health, mental health, addiction, and marital and other
relationship issues.
Did you know that your spouse or partner can access the Saskatchewan
PHP for support and assistance The program is
available to act as a referral source to community resources
or to provide direct support and assistance to spouses.
Prior to the spring meeting of the Representative Assembly in
May, the SMA will hold an educational session for physician
spouses on Thursday, May 5, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the
Sheraton Cavalier Hotel in Saskatoon.
By introducing this session, the SMA will focus on the inclusion
of spouses in the physician health program, acknowledging
the needs of physician spouses and promoting awareness
and education about the support and resources available.

in training, practising physicians, and retired physicians.
Physician spouses are invited and encouraged to attend.
Physicians are also welcome.
Hot and cold appetizers will be available. Attendees will also
be invited to attend the RA welcome reception immediately
following the workshop.
