What is does Nickelodeon mean
Is is an early 20 th century form of small,
neighborhood movie theaters in which
admission was obtained for a nickel.
These movie theatres were small typically
25 feet wide and 70 feet deep. Its seats
were usually simple kitchen chairs and its
walls were often painted red. For a nickel,
one could be transported into a fantasy
world on the screen.
The Nickelodeon Channel
On April Fools Day in 1979 a US based
TV channel adopted the name
Nickelodeon. Today Nickelodeon is TV
network, a company, a magazine and
many other things but with one single
minded goal – we put kids first in
everything that we do.
The Splat is Our Logo
It can stand for a lot of things, but there’s
one thing it always stands for: the irreverent,
kid-like spirit that is Nickelodeon.
It represents the promise we made to kids :
To put them at the core of everything that
we do, and to ensure that everything
we do has a spirit of playfulness and
messiness.
