The Women & Children's Directorate (an Acute Operating Division of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde) is a world leader in the
care of child and maternal health services. Located in the West end of Glasgow the hospital campus houses the famous Royal
Hospital for Sick Children with many national and regional specialist tertiary services. Applications are invited for a post in
paediatric otolaryngology providing training at the level of an experienced specialist registrar. The postholder will benefit from
extensive exposure to paediatric airway disorders within the NSD-designated Scottish National Service for Complex Paediatric
Airway Reconstruction. The department also undertakes a varied workload of secondary and tertiary-level paediatric
otolaryngology including head and neck surgery, chronic otitis media surgery, bone-anchored hearing aids, and audiological
medicine. The post holder will join a team including 5 consultant otolaryngologists, an associate specialist, two speciality
registrars and a GP Trainee. The department also has a consultant in paediatric audiological medicine, and a complex airways
and tracheostomy clinical nurse specialist. The department has a developing research portfolio and is actively involved in
undergraduate and postgraduate education. Applications are sought primarily from dynamic individuals who hold a CCT (or will
do so by the commencement of the post) in otolaryngology and who are looking to gain additional paediatric experience prior to
taking up a consultant post. This post, however, carries approval for speciality training, so individuals not yet in possession of
their CCT are welcome to apply as long as they currently hold a National Training Number in otolaryngology and have written

West Dunbartonshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service require a Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a) to work as part of the
Young People in Mind Service (YPIM). The YPIM Service is funded by West Dunbartonshire Local Authority and is a joint
initiative between CAMHS and Social Work to develop an integrated mental health service for looked after and accommodated
children and young people in West Dunbartonshire. This group of young people are amongst the most vulnerable and often
have complex needs. The team offer consultation, training and support to residential unit staff, social workers, link workers,
foster carers, education and health staff within the young person's system to address mental health needs. Some of the young
people require direct clinical assessment and intervention while partner agencies continue to work in a collaborative and
integrated way. As a member of the YPIM service you would work alongside a Social Worker and LAAC Nurse employed
specifically to work with children and young people who are looked-after and accommodated. Opportunities for close working
with multidisciplinary CAMHS colleagues as well as those from partner agencies creates a strong network of professionals
supporting the mental health needs of children and young people across West Dunbartonshire. You would have active
professional links with the Clinical Psychologists based within the CAMHS team for supervision, joint working, peer support and
CPD opportunities. You would also be part of a network of some 60 psychologists working with children and young people in
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde with excellent links to the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training course at Glasgow
University and the Masters in Applied Psychology for Children and Young People in Edinburgh. The department provides a

The purpose of the ward is to provide high quality, high dependency care to newly diagnosed spinal and spinal cord injury
patients in the acute phase, sometimes requiring ventilatory support. You will participate in the setting, implementation and
evaluation of nursing practice within a 12 bedded HDU and will assist the multi-disciplinary team in preparing patients for
rehabilitation. You will be a First level nurse trained in general nursing, adult nursing or Second level nurse (Scotland and
Northern Ireland), with evidence of continued professional development, effective communication skills and the ability to work as
part of a team. Previous critical care or high dependency experience; evidence of post basic study at Diploma/Degree level or
equivalent clinical experience and relevant high dependency or critical care course are desirable. Shift pattern is 12 hour
rotational. As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of
current NMC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide

Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I) is the laboratory discipline which supports clinical organ, tissue and stem cell
transplantation, disease susceptibility testing and transfusion medicine. As an expanding discipline using cutting-edge laboratory
technologies, H&I scientists are also involved in clinical and scientific research. You will be responsible for the day-to-day
management of one of four teams within the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I) laboratory on a rotational basis. You
will be required to supervise additional teams within the department when the respective Team Manager is absent, and on
occasions to deputise for the Technical Manager. You will also be responsible for the duties within a team that ensure the
provision of a high quality, efficient, highly specialised H&I service to patients, and will contribute to the ongoing development of
the laboratory service. Experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, oligonucleotide probing, DNA sequencing) and
antibody analysis (ELISA, luminex and flow cytometry technology) are desired. Qualifications essential for this post are an
Honours degree or equivalent in a biological subject approved by the Health Professions Council (HPC). You should also be
state registered as a Biomedical Scientist or Clinical Scientist with the HPC. It is also desirable that you have achieved the
British Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Diploma in H & I (Certificate of Competence) and have a Masters

be based in the Sur/Obs/Gyn section at the Southern General hospital, currently situated on level 5 Neurological Institute.
Significant relevant post-qualification experience for Degree and HNC/HND holders is required with some experience as a
Practitioner in Medical Physics technology preferred. You should have relevant experience acquired by working in close
relationship with lead clinicians/practitioners in specialist areas with practical experience on a broad range of complex medical
equipment, workplace practice and techniques including Health and Safety regulations, application of technology to medical
equipment in healthcare, training of clinical, nursing or other technical staff, working knowledge of relevant legislation, national
standards, professional and other guidelines and the Quality Management System. A Degree or an HNC/HND in an appropriate
discipline, or equivalent qualifications, is essential to this post. Qualifications complemented by an acceptable knowledge,
training and experience profile, to meet the required person specification, will be considered. Registration in the Voluntary
Register for Clinical Technologists (VRCT) held by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) is highly desirable
