newly created post. The successful c<strong>and</strong>idate will join 10 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons at the Royal Alex<strong>and</strong>ra Hospital. We<br />

are seeking a suitably qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in Trauma <strong>and</strong> who has a sub-specialist interest in Lower<br />

Limb Arthroplasty, Foot <strong>and</strong> Ankle surgery or an interest to complement the department. The successful c<strong>and</strong>idate will initially<br />

participate in the on-call Orthopaedic rota of 1:9 for out-of-hours cover including weekends at the Royal Alex<strong>and</strong>ra Hospital. They<br />

will also provide 2 days of clinics at Lorn Hospital, Oban on a rota comprising 4 visits per annum i.e. 8 days in total per annum.<br />

The Royal Alex<strong>and</strong>ra Hospital is a busy District General Hospital situated 9 miles west of <strong>Glasgow</strong>. We are close to an<br />

international airport <strong>and</strong> have excellent motorway links with attractive rural <strong>and</strong> coastal scenery within 15 minutes drive. We are<br />

one of the busiest Trauma units in Scotl<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> have all major Orthopaedic subspecialties on site. The terms <strong>and</strong> conditions of<br />

service are those determined by the New Consultant Contract (Scotl<strong>and</strong>) 2004 <strong>and</strong> each post is offered on a 10 Programmed<br />

Activity basis, although opportunities may exist for extra Programmed Activities subject to service requirements. Applications<br />

service for the <strong>Clyde</strong> sector. The microbiology departments in <strong>NHS</strong>GGC provide an integrated diagnostic microbiology & virology<br />

service to the population of <strong>Glasgow</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Clyde</strong>, including the Primary Care Division. This service includes a full range of<br />

diagnostic bacteriology, serology, chlamydia detection, <strong>and</strong> mycology culture. The microbiologists have close working<br />
