Applications are invited for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, primarily based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley. This is a
newly created post. The successful candidate will join 10 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. We
are seeking a suitably qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in Trauma and who has a sub-specialist interest in Lower
Limb Arthroplasty, Foot and Ankle surgery or an interest to complement the department. The successful candidate will initially
participate in the on-call Orthopaedic rota of 1:9 for out-of-hours cover including weekends at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. They
will also provide 2 days of clinics at Lorn Hospital, Oban on a rota comprising 4 visits per annum i.e. 8 days in total per annum.
The Royal Alexandra Hospital is a busy District General Hospital situated 9 miles west of Glasgow. We are close to an
international airport and have excellent motorway links with attractive rural and coastal scenery within 15 minutes drive. We are
one of the busiest Trauma units in Scotland and have all major Orthopaedic subspecialties on site. The terms and conditions of
service are those determined by the New Consultant Contract (Scotland) 2004 and each post is offered on a 10 Programmed
Activity basis, although opportunities may exist for extra Programmed Activities subject to service requirements. Applications
from individuals who may wish to work on a part time or job-share basis will be considered. Applicants will be appropriately
experienced, with full GMC registration and be on the GMC's Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence
of Higher Specialist Training leading to CCT, or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Non UK

Applications are invited for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, primarily based at the Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock. This
is a New post. The successful candidate will join 5 other Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons at the Inverclyde Royal Hospital. We
are seeking a suitably qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in Trauma and who has a sub-specialist interest in Foot
and Ankle/ Lower Limb Arthroplasty. The successful candidate will initially participate in the on-call Orthopaedic rota of 1:6 for
out-of-hours cover including weekends at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. Elective theatre sessions are available at IRH and also at
the Vale of Leven Hospital, about twenty miles away with a 5 day ward facility. The terms and conditions of service are those
determined by the New Consultant Contract (Scotland) 2004 and each post is offered on a 10 Programmed Activity basis,
although opportunities may exist for extra Programmed Activities subject to service requirements. Applications from individuals

The opportunity has arisen within Greater Glasgow and Clyde for a substantive Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest
in spinal surgery. The applicant will be expected to cover the full range of spinal workload that the health board area demands.
At present there are spinal surgeons based in the Western Infirmary, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
This post is part of an expansion of the spinal service in order to meet high levels of demand. While primarily based at the
Western Infirmary, this spinal service will cover the entire board area and may require clinical sessions on other hospital sites.

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC) are seeking the full time appointment of a part time Consultant Microbiologist based
initially at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The postholder will join 4 other consultants in providing a proactive clinical microbiology
service for the Clyde sector. The microbiology departments in NHSGGC provide an integrated diagnostic microbiology & virology
service to the population of Glasgow and Clyde, including the Primary Care Division. This service includes a full range of
diagnostic bacteriology, serology, chlamydia detection, and mycology culture. The microbiologists have close working
relationships with other clinical colleagues, with infection control having a high priority. Applications are invited from medical
microbiologists with relevant skills and experience who have full GMC registration and are listed in the GMC's specialist register
