Gain a better underst<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>of</strong> the mathematics<br />

crucial to success in NYU-SCPS<br />

quantitative courses. Brush up on skills <strong>and</strong><br />

key mathematical ideas required for the <strong>finance</strong><br />

curriculum. Content emphasizes<br />

basic tools <strong>of</strong> calculation <strong>and</strong> their application<br />

through specific examples. Students<br />

are introduced to concepts commonly used<br />

in <strong>finance</strong> such as present value, expected<br />

value, <strong>and</strong> compound interest rates, along<br />

with key statistical concepts. No prior exposure<br />

to statistics required. Course content contains<br />

no review or discussion <strong>of</strong> calculus.<br />

Estimated time to complete the primary instructional<br />
